Magic Bands w/o ticket purchase?

We are planning on staying at POR for the first 3 days of our 9 day trip, then moving offsite. We already have "no expire" tickets from about 5 years ago that we have linked to our MDE account. Will we be able to have our MBs linked to our tickets? I know we'll only be able to get FP+ for them on the days we're on site, but can we still have our tickets linked to them for our offsite days?

Also, could we have charging priveleges after we checkout? Could we like the MB to our Disney Visa?

TIA as we figure this all out!

1- Will we be able to have our MBs linked to our tickets?

2- I know we'll only be able to get FP+ for them on the days we're on site,

3- but can we still have our tickets linked to them for our offsite days?

4- Also, could we have charging priveleges after we checkout?

5- Could we like the MB to our Disney Visa?

1- If they are in your MDE account, the MagicBands WILL be able to access the tickets.
2- That's incorrect. You can get advanced FP+ for offsite stays (as early as 30 days in advance.)
3- Yes.
4 & 5- I don't know, but I doubt it.

-----------------------------------
Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

You will be able to charge until midnight of checkout day. It goes to your room account not the magic band itself.

Thanks, Robo--always appreciate your knowledge and quick answers. So, we could make FP+ 60 days out for our time onsite, and 30 days out for our offsite park days? And we can use the MB for both our on and offsite days for tickets?

I also have heard that you MUST have a ticket and room package to use the 60 day booking window.

1- Yes.
2- Yes.
3- Yes
4- Yes. Not a "room package," just an on-site room booked.
(And, you said that you already HAVE a ticket.)

We already have "no expire" tickets from about 5 years ago that we have linked to our MDE account.

So, it looks like you're good to go!

I want to make a correction about the 60 day v 30 day. I had the same issue. We are staying onsite for 3 nights and then moving offsite. Here is how it worked for me (recently, haven't had trip yet):

Was able to book first 4 days (check-in to check-out) at 60 days out from check-in day.
Then for off-site days, I was able to book one day at a time when that day was 60 days out for the remainder of my ticket. So, you still get a 60 day window due to it being the same trip, you just have to wait and do one day at a time.
Hope that makes sense. Just check MDE, days will open up at the appropriate time.
