Can you use older Magic bands (that were used for the parks) on the ships?

A MagicBand+ from the parks will work on the Disney Cruise ships, but an older MagicBand will not:

No, it has to be the MagicBand+. Can't be the original Magic Band or MagicBand 2.0.
