Magic Bands Downtown Disney

Anyone know if there's a selection of special characters magic bands at downtown disney or just the plain colors? I've read they were available at Pin Traders and Disney Quest's gift shop. Does anyone know if they sell them anywhere else in Downtown Disney?

Saw them at PinTraders on Thursday. I think they are also in the World of Disney shop. Hotel gift shops have them as well.

Thanks, we have a Stitch fan and a StarWars fan so since we are purchasing them anyways, thought it would'nt be a big difference in price. I wanted them before we head to the parks.

I just ordered the RunDisney band for my DD on the Shop Disney Parks app in like 60 seconds and that included updating my CC, as the one on file (for MyDisneyExperience) had expired. I have never used the app and was shocked at how easy and seamless it was (all your personal info from MDE is apparently shared with the app). I didn't even need to enter the numbers for the new cc, just scan it and it converted the image into the correct spaces.

Since I live in Canada I can't get them shipped here, it would have been so much easier.

Can someone explain to me what the different kinds of bands are. When I was there in the summer, there were three price points for the magic bands with something that looked like a stronger signal sign next to each one.

When I was there in the summer, there were three price points for the magic bands with something that looked like a stronger signal sign next to each one.

I don't know about the stronger signal sign (that would be news to me), but 1) least expensive are the regular mono coloured bands that you receive if you booked the package 2) open edition themed bands with different characters or graphics printed on the band and 3) limited edition (fewer bands made and only available for a limited time) themed bands that often make a unique sound/tune when held up to the scanners in a specific park.eg the MNSSHP/Halloween Party band makes a unique sound when held up to the scanners at MK. The Star Wars Weekend bands made a unique sound when held up to the scanners at Hollywood Studios. I think they all roughly have the same battery life so it is up to you if A) you plan another vacation in the near future to be able wear the band again or B) you are just buying it as a souvenir and a one off wear during that vacation. Maybe check out the website magicbandcollectors as he usually has up to date pics and info about specialty bands released each month.
