title asks it all. Will I be able to wear the band through the security check or will it make me Beep!

Thanks

Most airports have the xray thing now so it will show up on the image and they will look and see your band and move you along.

TSA never made me take my plastic watch off. It even had a metal backing and they NEVER made me take it off.

If they can't figure out what the band is, they may want to look at it.

I went through a body scanner last month so they still are out there, however that won't affect magic bands. My guess is that they will want to see it on the X-ray anyway to see the inside if it.

For fun and excitement. Not a need, just a want. :)

you can still wear it at the airport. if you are asked to remove it then remove it, if not then don't. I've been asked to take my watch off sometimes, others not. None of us can answer the question 100%. It's not a big deal if you need to remove it for the 1 minute it takes to go through the scanner and put it through the xray with the rest of your belongings.

Unless you enjoy extra time with the TSA, I would not wear anything extra, nor leave anything in a pocket!

I even take off my belt at the risk of my pants falling down walking through the scanner.

I personally don't like the TSA paying any more attention to me than necessary. I wouldn't risk having to go through extra screening just to keep a MB on my wrist.

A watch is old technology. The fact is we don't know exactly what is in that MB. We know there is RF technology. There is likely other technology in there as well since the bands have the ability to do things the RF cards can't do. I wouldn't try taking a band through one of the screeners no more than I'd try carrying a phone or Bluetooth. It's unnecessarily inviting questions from the TSA.

It's an RFID transmitter; that's what makes it different from the cards. There's quite a bit of info about what the MB is on the piece of paper in the MB box. Of course, our piece of paper was under the insert that holds the MBs, so unless you took it out you wouldn't find it.

The Magic Bands just contain an RFID chip in them - that shouldn't set anything off. Most library books have RFID chips in them these days. Heck, even airports use RFID technology on luggage tags.

RFID use is becoming more and more common. It's really not a scary thing.

I go through security with my Nike Fuelband on, that thing has a lithium ion battery and Bluetooth and I've never been directed to remove it. This is on the full body scanners, maybe regular metal detectors would be more of a problem.

I think the safe takeaway from this is that you do whatever TSA tells you to do, and pay no attention to what we say here.
