I looked on my WDW account and the choices are limited. So I looked at the Disney Store. The reviews on the new bands are awful. Many people lost their bands multiple times a day. They say they refuse to stay on/poor design. I have Magic bands from 2022. I don’t need it to vibrate and light up. But I do need it to connect to the photo pass. Can anyone share their experiences good or bad on the new bands please?

We've really had no issues with them staying on, and we've used them quite a bit. I don't need the vibrating and lights either! Sometimes I expect it depends on the size of the wrist. Photo pass will be linked to your MDE, which would be linked to your band(s). If you want to share the photo pass with others during the trip, they need to be linked as F&F to the MDE account with the pass, I believe.

Can anyone share their experiences good or bad on the new bands please?
The old magicband will work well with everything at close proximity (contact): Opening room, entering park and being scanned by a Photopass photographer. If their (non rechargeable) battery is low or dead, they won’t work at long range so ride pictures will not show up. There is a way to do that with your phone if you carry it on a ride (Bluetooth and location enabled if I remember right). I did leave my phone in the locker when riding Tron so those pictures did not show up on MDE. I had to write to request them and got them in the end.

I wish the new MB+ worked for me. I’ve tried and tried over multiple trips and multiple MB+s, and now I’m just using my old MBs and phone. It’s clunky, falls off, super uncomfortable due to me having very small wrist. I could wear old MB all week without losing or discomfort.

The old MBs will always work when tapping. Whatever you’re tapping just pulls the unique code attached to you as an individual in MDE account. So park entry tapstyles, LLs, purchase points, photographers, hotel room, etc. Still works.

Since I always have my phone, that serves as back-up and for any long distance signals, like ride photos. Or if I want to play in park games or see my name light up at Small World or RnRC, etc.

I bought one purely for design as I don’t care about the newer interactive functions. I just wanted a new MB that looked better than my old ones.

But I can confirm - at least for me - it fell off about 3 times while in the parks the very first day I used it. It would have been lost except for some luck and a kindly stranger.

The other negative is needing to charge it with a special adapter.

I probably wouldn’t spend the money knowing what I know now. I still like the look of it so next time I wear it I’ll duct tape the band or something.

We bought bit belts from Amazon, there are several different makers. I also use them on fitbit band while traveling.
We also use the magic band clips from Amazon. Just search for Magic Band Protectors. They are a life saver. My 4 year old granddaughter never lost her band. Shoes yes, magic band no. We had no problem with our magic bands. They worked perfectly. The selection on the WDW web site is pretty slim, just keep checking back as the selections are updated regularly. I really like using them instead of pulling out my phone for everything. I kinda hate having to do everything on the phone and the magic band frees me of that. Of course YMMV

Another vote for Bit Belts from Amazon. I have them for all my magic bands and never had one come off. I did have a MB+ that got a bit loose last summer. I looked at it and it had popped loose, but the bit belt prevented it from falling off. I just rehooked it in the holes and slid the bit belt back in place.

We have a few of the MB+'s and one of mine has a tough time saying on. Any time I put the backpack on and it moves against the MB it pops off. One time at the beginning of RnR coaster it came off and you can see it off in the ride photo. I was able to catch it in the middle of the first loop. Since then we both use the Bit Belts and have never had an issue with them coming off. When you look at the one that tends to call off and compare it to another band you can see the tine's are a bit smaller.
