Magic Band Question

A while ago I deleted a number of people from my "Friends and Family" list on MDE. We are headed to WDW with one of our friends who was deleted and he had a magic band tied. I tried to re-link his magic band to his new profile with no luck (I thought that was going to happen).

Is that magic band no longer usable? Or is there a way his old profile can be "retrieved"? Or is there someway to link the band to his new profile on my MDE account?
 
I would call the MDE help desk - sounds complicated by his having a new profile, not just needing to be “reinstated” as one of your F& F!
 
Yep, the only way would be to call Disney IT, to ask if his old profile could be retrieved and merged with his current one. 407-939-4357
 
Not sure I understand the question so all this might be worthless information…sorry. Isn’t a magicband linked to an individual’s own MDE account and it can’t be transferred? You are linking individual MDE accounts to your “Friends and Family” list. They control their lists of active or inactive bands. If the old magicband is not in their current account/profile under “MagicBands and Cards”, most likely need to enter a fresh new magicband to that account. As stated in earlier posts, I’d call Disney for your answers.

Yes, a MagicBand is linked to an individual profile in MDE.

The OP doesn't want to transfer the band to a different person. He wants the original owner of the MagicBand to be able to use it, but the issue is that it was originally linked to that person in an MDE profile that no longer exists. So the system THINKS that he is trying to link it to a different person.

The only possible solution is for Disney IT to somehow retrieve that old profile, and merge it with the guest's new, current profile, or to override the system to allow the band to link to the new profile. It may or may not be worth jumping through those hoops rather than just getting a new MagicBand.
