Hi all,

I went to WDW January 2015 and am going again next month. In my MDE it says my magic band is still active. So it's been 2 years.

Will it still work? We are staying off site so I would have to buy a new one, which isn't a huge deal, but if this one is still good I may as well use it right?

Thanks,
Tina

It will definitely still work for any of the close tap points like park entry and fast pass. There is a battery though for the long-range scanning, like ride photos. That battery only lasts so long, but it could still very well be operational. Two years is right on the border of the expected lifespan. You can always tap your band at the appropriate point after a ride to save your photo to Photopass, except on 7DMT which has no post-ride tap points or monitors.

Thanks! So if I buy Memory Maker it will work? Sorry if I sound dumb, just trying to get a handle on everything! LOL

Yes. Everyone who is listed in your MDE will have the ability to link Photopass photos to your MDE.

There are two Stickies by @Accident at the top of this forum that will address your questions. He explains both much better than I'm able to. :)

yes and if it dose not work you will have a plastic hard ticket too ( you can pick them up for free at GR)

I have used my first MB from2 1/2- 3 years ago on my last trip and it worked fine ( and I have sued it a lot)

Scan you band at the ride photos. The one thing that long-range RFID is used for is the ride photos. If the battery has died, that won't work. All but two rides still have the option to scan your band to claim the ride photo.

Are there two? I thought 7DMT was the only one without a scanner.
