Magic Band+ Not Staying Paired w/Phone

We are arriving at DL on Sunday. I have a Magic Band+ that I bought for the WDW 50th Anniversary. I had no problem connecting it with the Disneyland app. However, every time I close the Disneyland app it unpairs. The MB+ goes from being listed as connected to "saved" in my bluetooth settings. Is this normal? I just want to make sure I will still be able to use it for getting into the parks and the lightning lane lines. I have tried resetting the MB+ but its still the same.

We've had issues with a couple of the MB+ when swapping between WDW and DL and vice versa. We have multiple MBs paired to each phone since our kids don't have their own MDE account yet.

Re-pairing on my Android works fine, but for my wife's iPhone, what we discovered after troubleshooting with some CMs is that she has to go into her Bluetooth settings and forget the device from there in order to pair it to the other app. Otherwise, it's similar to what you're describing where it tries to pair and never seems to really connect. Once she has the band forgotten in the Bluetooth settings, the MB+ pairs and works seamlessly again.
