Went to WDW three times since June of last year.. I think I stated on last report that we have like 34 magic bands laying around..Was supposed to go March but...well you know..rescheduled for last week in May probably won't happen..but we will get more bands.... so a combined trip report and short videos on some of our new uses for our magic bands.
Just going to give some short thoughts instead of a day to day review.
So I now have a travel agent with KingdomConcierge who is also a patient of mine...like since she was a little girl...geeshh...feel old. I have always done my own scheduling and reservations so she knows how to work with me...although i will say this..tried to change a hotel reservation at one point last minute...we were staying at ASMo and I found a YC for about $50 buck more a night...so it was 6 am in the morning her time so I just shot her a text and email.. Reservations would let me switch EXCEPT that she would lose a couple of nights commision...that stinks!!!!!
We have coined ourselves Resort Hoppers..why..cause I am always looking for a deal...in the past I have stayed at POFQ, POR(home resort), CB, Pop, and Swan. We had a big group in June (ten of us) and stayed at CS, POR, and BWI..... Five of us stayed in October at ASM and CB....then my wife and I actually went for a few nights in December for my continuing education (oh yeah) and stayed at BC.... so here is my thoughts on the resorts I have stayed in the last few years.
Swan: was worried about non-Disney hotel...who cares!! great pool and so convenient...never stayed at an Boardwalk area hotel...it truly is the bomb...spoiled and will add on later to this
POP: first Value resort I ever stayed at....felt cheap... pool was ok and food court was very good.... at this point I never had stayed at a Deluxe so I am not a snob... but was just not thrilled about this resort ever again...
CS: I was really surprised on how much I loved this resort...I thought it was beautiful and didn't feel as convention-y as I was led to believe...didn't eat much here but looked pretty decent.
Loved the lake and walkways and the kids loved the pool although it was a heck of a walk, which is part of the problem.. liked the quiet pools at all the resorts for quick dips.. I got lost about
every time trying to find the room, but hey, it's an adventure? EVER GOT LOST AT AN OPRYLAND HOTEL???
POR: we only stayed one night because of my silly challenge to find deals...but used to stay here a lot in a previous marriage...(more on that later)....I still love it...the piano player and a drink,
the great food court, the laid back atmosphere, the main pool, and the watermill.... my oldest sons came in with their girlfriends at 1 am and 2:30 am and just walking around back to the watermill area just flooded me with memories when these twenty something were very little kids...actually had a little cry at one point...mostly good memories but regrets also...more
again on that later
BWI: ok, so I know the crown is creepy....but the pool area is so awesome!!! and all the food places around is really neat (ice cream anyone).... I will say this....I miss food courts when staying
at deluxe resorts.. I don't care how old your kids are, it is just easier for everyone to find what they want to eat.... just a neat hotel that really does bring you back to a different place in
time.... I think the people who worked here were the most friendly cast members of any resort hotel I have stayed in. and again, the convenience to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was
the bomb! HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED SOME OF YOUR BEST MEMORIES AT DISNEY ARE ACTUALLY WALKING WITH YOUR FAMILY AFTER A FUN DAY AT THE PARKS? of course it can
easily go the other way lol.... One bad spot on this resort, least dependable bus transportation ever.
WELL, more later... hope you enjoyed
