Magic Band Delayed Shipment

Our trip is in 11 days and as of this afternoon, MDE still said our Magic Bands "may ship at any moment." (Two others in our party who are on a different reservation number had theirs ship out yesterday, which still seems like it's cutting it too close.)

DH just called and was told that our MBs hadn't shipped yet because I have a hyphenated last name which caused the computer system to "hiccup." Hopefully the issue is now fixed (although MDE still doesn't say they've shipped). Has anyone else been told that their MBs didn't ship because of a hyphenated last name?

Over the past year, there have been many things similar (if not exactly) posted about some "non-standard" entry
on the name line that caused the MBs not to ship until corrected.

That's weird. My three kids are all hyphenated and we have not had any problems with their bands shipping.

Our name is not hyphenated but I forgot to order MBs until last Friday. They were mailed and I received them yesterday (Monday). Yours should get there in time. We are going about the same time you are.

I finalized our MB order months ago. I wish there was some way to know that they have an issue with sending them out, besides having to check the status on MDE daily.

We'll call again tomorrow if they still haven't shipped. My parents' bands said they were out for shipment last night, and as of today they have a tracking number (they're supposed to get them bet May 8 and 10). My parents live 5,000 miles from WDW (is that where the bands actually send from?); we live much closer, so hopefully ours will also arrive in plenty of time.

Call. I had one shipment get "stuck." I called and the cast member "released" the order. Not sure why it had to be manually done but then it shipped! The customization is actually nothing special. You can barely see the names. Don't sweat it!

The name stuff is funky. It can also get stuck if you booked with a TA, because the address in the account isn't the same as the address the TA put (and you need to change during customization).

The name stuff isn't the name on the bands, but the names in the account and on the address.

Honestly, I don't think any of the CMs (not front line people or tech people) KNOW what's going on with the names and addresses, but there is *something* going on and it's been going on for something like a year now, so...we just gotta call when we see "shipping soon" for too long.
