Magic band assigned to wrong family member?

Hey everyone!

Quick question. We are going to Disney in May. We are reserved for three rooms under three different reservations:

Res 1:

Mom
Dad

Res 2:

Me
Wifey

Res 3:
Sister
Brother in law
Niece 1
Niece 2

So we are 60 days out and I'm trying to book Fastpass experiences. Did all the convoluted invites, etc (real clunky process) so I have control over everyone's fastpasses... except Dad. I checked via Mom's account and dad's magicband is linked to me. So I have two magic bands coming, both linked to me, one under res 1 and one under res 2.

Of course, because of this, Dad isn't eligible for mymagic+, so I can't begin booking fastpass+ until we get this figured out.

Anyone know of a way to fix this without calling customer service? Or anyone have any experience with magic bands being double assigned to them? Have no clue how this happened, and have tried everything I can think of on the website to change it, to no avail.

Would sincerely appreciate any experience or guidance you can provide. Thanks!

We had the same issue in January, with DS and DH-- tried and tried to get two separate bands, but never succeeded. We gave up. DS's band kept reverting to DH. (They do have the same name. Not sure if that was the problem or not.)
DS had access to DH's credit card and room, but not his own.

After several attempts at the front desk and three new bands, we were spending our vacation trying to straighten out this problem. When we got home, I called, and now, DS has DSil's band attached to him. :confused3

Had this very same problem before our last trip in October. It's still not fixed entirely but I did have to call multiple times to attempt to have some of the issues corrected so my stepfather could be added to FP+ reservations. Even after I linked his ticket in the system it would say he wasn't eligible for FP+. Only by calling was he added to those reservations and ADRs. I later tried deleting him from my account since it was causing so many issues and instead setting him up under my mother's but since his ticket and band were linked to my account the system would not allow it. At one point his band was linked to directly to me so I had to call and get a new band ordered for him. Having to call as many times as I did to get all the issues fixed was a real pain, but it was the only way to get it semi-corrected. One of the CMs I spoke with did mention that they see more problems when multiple members of large parties are grouped together under one account. I did that because I thought it would be easier since I make all the reservations and no one else wants to deal with keeping up with all the details like OCD Disney me. If I had had any idea the problems it would cause I would have done things differently at that time.
Wish I had better words of wisdom for you or someone else can comment how they've had success with similar issues on their own.

Yikes, so sorry to hear about your difficult experiences. Thank you for sharing.

And yes, Dad and I have the same name, legally we are both John, but on the reservation (booked directly through Disney) he is John and I am Jack (my nickname).

I guess I'll start calling Disney ASAP to try and get this problem fixed. The last thing I want to do is try and deal with this while we are actually in Disney.

Called Disney tonight and the awesome CM took care of the problem in 10 minutes. I even accidentally hung up on her while she had me on hold but she still fixed it.

Booked all our fastpasses!

Now we'll see if the magic bands are actually correct when we get there, but at least I got all the fastpasses booked.
