Magic Band as room key for someone else’s room

We are headed down in 27 days!! My mom is coming the day after and staying in a separate room at Sports. She is a weekly traveler for work so she has it down to where she only packs a carryon and no luggage.

With that being said, we will be at MK when she arrives on DME but before checkin. Will her magic band work for our room and her room? I was going to let her put her carryon in our room and freshen up before coming to meet us.

Everything of hers is controlled under my MDE account. But since her name is on her own room and not ours I didn’t know if that would work.

No, her name would need to be on your reservation. You could always send her a new magic band and have it linked under your name. Another option is to have her log in to your MDE account and use her phone to open the door

Thanks. That’s what I thought. Didn’t think about using MDE. I have some extra bands that I’ll just give her one of.

Be advised that while MBs are interchangeable, resorts do have the ability to limit the number of bands that can be used for resort-specific functions like opening doors and accessing the pool. Most resorts don't do that, but some do - Beach Club being the resort that does it most often.
