Here is day 4 of my spring break trip report. This is the tale of a relaxing day at sea on March 15.
We got up bright and early, to be ready for our character breakfast in Parrot Cay. Last time we were on the Magic it was a breakfast buffet, but this time we were served at the table. I think that was a good change, since there seemed to be fewer mix-ups over what tables had seen each character. I had my camera in hand and snapped some character photos with the kids. David isnt much for the character pictures anymore, so I have to take advantage of the few chances I am offered.
Allen and I went two different directions after breakfast. He wanted to do the rainforest room at the spa and I HATE the combination of heat and humidity. Personally, I can't imagine how anyone thinks it could be relaxing, but he loved it. So we agreed to meet up at 10:30 for our Couples massage. This was also part of our Romantic Escape at Sea package. The massage was wonderful. I felt very pampered. My bones were like noodles by the time they were finished with me.
I have to admit that I dozed off on the couch for about 30 minutes when we got back to the room.
David went to the teens power lunch, so the rest of us went to lunch together. We were pleased to run into Zoran, our server from 2001. And he remembered Amy when he spotted her. He asked if itd been 2 or 3 years since hed seen us. We were impressed. Hes a nice guy. It was good to see him again. Its amazing how attached you can get to servers in a weeks time. We all agreed that next cruise well request one of our prior servers. Itd be fun to spend time with them again.
David played a game called Gotcha all day. Amy got involved in the teen Gender Wars contest. Both did the afternoon animation class. And David went to the teen pool party.
At 3:00 Allen and I went to high tea at Palos. It was my first high tea, and I enjoyed it very much. We had little finger sandwiches, scones, and an éclair with our tea. We struck up a conversation with the couple at the next table. I suggest going to tea at Palos if you arent planning to have brunch there one day. The view is so beautiful in the daytime.
This was our formal night. Parrot Cay is really the least formal of the three restaurants on the Magic. It was kind of weird to have both of our formal nights scheduled there. The food was great. I wish I could remember what I had to eat, but Ive forgotten. I do remember that it was incredibly warm that evening. As soon as we got our photos made at the Captains reception we changed back into casual clothes for the evening show.
The Golden Mickeys is a new show on the ship. Its still so new that they dont even have trading cards for it. I really enjoyed it. It wasnt what I was expecting at all. I left wishing Id have a chance to see it again. Its really good. We all snickered a bit when Roy Disney made an appearance on the big screen prior to the show, as part of the introduction. That was kind of strange considering his status with the company at this point. I bet Michael Eisner is sorry that they had him film that clip. Personally, I was glad to see him a part of it.
Allen and I went to the adult cabaret with Gary Delena. I think the kids went to his earlier show for kids. Hes a singer and some of his songs are really fun take-offs on other songs. I enjoyed it.
We went back to the room a little earlier than usual and sat on the veranda. We saw flying fish and several other boats and millions of stars. I think we had a glass of wine and went to bed earlier than normal. Even David came home a little earlier than usual. The next morning we had a 7:30 excursion planned, so wake-up and breakfast was going to come really early.
