Made verbal agreement on BLT today, have questions

So I saw a BLT listing pop up for 25 points today and thought it would be perfect to get my feet wet. I made the verbal agreement this morning and expect to get the first set of paperwork with deposit sent off tomorrow.

I see that it typically takes about 70 days from day 1 to close. My question is that I need two nights at the end of March 2016 in BLT my home resort. that would put me at about nine months out assuming I close in the first week of July. Do you think I'll have the availability? and how does the 7/11 month rule work when booking?

I bet you'll be able to get a lake-view studio, but the standard view will probably be sold out.

The 7/11 month booking windows work exactly like they sound. You can book your home resort with home-resort points at 11 months out, or anywhere at 7 months out. So, at 9 months, you'll still be competing with BLT owners, but not all owners from other resorts until 7 months out.

There really is no way to tell if what you want will be available or not. The end of March 2016 is spring break season, so it might be tough. Easter is at the end of March in 2016.

I figured it might be tough because of the timing. Thanks for explaining the booking rule, I think I get it now. I just hope Disney doesn't snag the contract!

I think my broker was talking about your contract today! I also offered on BLT today, and he was telling me a 25 point BLT got snagged in 10 minutes! Good job!

Yep, that was probably me. I wasn't planning on buying one until after august but BLT and a loaded contract was too good to pass up. If I hadn't got up 30 minutes earlier than normal I would've missed.

Mine was 81 days from day 1 to close and then you have to wait 2-3 weeks for membership # to be able to see availabilty and actually book.

if i'm lucky I'll have about 10 days of exclusivity to the time that I want. Fingers crossed
