Made the tough decision to switch from BC to CBR - would love some reassurance ❤

My husband and I are coming to WDW from Feb 1 to Feb 9 ....we are also treating DD1 & her BF and DD2 & her BF each to their own rooms (3 rooms total). I really thought it would be fun to be able to walk to Epcot since we are all adults, but I just couldn't ignore the math. If we are only getting 1 room or 2, I love doing deluxe ....but 3 rooms? I just couldn't stomach it. I had already decided no CL this trip (duh - that was an easy decision), but today I changed our 3 ressies to CBR. I really hope we will have just as much fun at CBR. My daughters don't mind one bit and are very appreciative for the vacay - it is just my own problem trying to give up my original BC idea. Please tell me we will love CBR (last trip there was over 20 years ago!)

Well BC pool will be closed so you definitely don’t want to stay there! I haven’t stay at CBR yet, but you can take the monorail to Epcot still and walk around the boardwalk area.

From CBR they'd take the Skyliner to Epcot, which I find more fun than walking even if it does take a bit longer. The good news is that CBR is the hub so you cut off a bit of time there.

You will love CBR.

Seriously, CBR has some of the larger moderate rooms on property. You will have Skyliner access to two parks (and be conveniently located near the hub station), as well as the Crescent Lake area for easy access to dining at those resorts. You will be right next to Riviera, and their dining opportunities as well.

The only thing that bothers me at CBR is the lack of elevators to the upper floor rooms. I always request ground floor, since I don’t exactly pack light and don’t want to carry heavy luggage up and down stairs. Since you have a larger travel group (I am typically solo) this may not be an issue for you.

I love BC, but have had just as enjoyable a trip at CBR, especially since the advent of the Skyliner.

If stairs matter get your request in for first floor, the buildings don’t have elevators.

The space will absolutely be worth it. Everyone in their rooms will give privacy and breaks from each other to help keep the drama down. No, the room won’t be as nice. But you get your family with you instead and not crowded into 2 rooms. Worth it!

Yep I totally meant skyliner. Good thing it’s Friday 🤪

You will love it. I stayed at CBR twice but it was many years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed it. My kids actually enjoy the CBR over the Poly pool.

Just think of all the booths you can do with the money you’re saving!

The CBR is great location and it is hub for the 2 Skyliner lines. So easy direct drop off at the Epcot International Gateway and also a direct line to HS.

It will be nice not to have to avoid the SAB pool refurbishment at the BC during your visit next Feb.

Do you want to request your room to be near each other?

You might want to call reservations and have the CM note that you are traveling with and list the other 2 reservations on each reservation. CBR is quite spread out so it would be helpful if all your rooms are in the same building and maybe the same floor.

Yes! I have requested that we be placed in the same building (fingers crossed!) and the 3 reservations are linked. Now I need to decide which building or area to request. I have heard that one end of the resort is really close to Riviera. We stayed there in Jan 2020 and really enjoyed the quick service and pool bar there - so that would be an added bonus to be close to there for options.

What room categories did you book?

The buildings that are the shortest walk to the Main Disney Skyliner station at CBR are in the Jamaica section of the resort. Specifically, Buildings 41, 42, or 43.

Part of the Aruba section is closer to the Rivera Skyliner station and Part of the Martinique section is an easy walk to the Rivera but not very close to either Skyliner station.

We didn't book preferred because we want to be on the Aruba/Jamaica side, however, the kicker is that Standard and Water view rooms were not available for all 8 nights. I had to choose King rooms (I was able to book 3 of those). I like the idea of Jamaica 45 because it is central to everything, but I wonder how long of a walk that building is to Riviera.

Maybe think about booking the swolphin. I moved my reservation from POFQ to Swan when I could book a deluxe for the price of a moderate. Loved the pool and ability to walk from Epcot and HS (even though we always used the boats to and from HS).

Jamaica 45 is our favorite location, with Aruba 51 being our second. From 45 it took us 7 minutes to walk over to Riviera.

Honestly if being in the same building is that important to you, I'd skip the area request. The more requests you put in, the harder it is for them to meet. Especially with something as limited as the number of King bed rooms.

We love CBR. The skyliner is a game changer. My husband loves the joffreys stand right by the station too. The poolside bar was a relaxing place to grab dinner and a drink. If you are worried about the walk to riviera you can take the internal bus to get closer. The quick serve at riviera is nice, sitting outside there was quiet. Their coffee shop was good and there is a nice sitting area behind it. Yes, my husband loves his coffee. Just walking the resort was nice too. Enjoy!

Is there a joffreys near both skyliner stations or just the CBR station? Do they have any food items as well as coffee?

Maybe instead of requesting a specific building, I will just request Jamaica or Aruba. Not the end of the world if we aren't in the same building...but "nearby" would be nice!

7 minutes to the Riviera skyliner station or 7 minutes to the actual resort? Either way - that is not bad at all!
