I didn't want to risk losing the Best Western right across the street, so I made my reservation already. Still trying to decide on Hollywood or Burbank for the weekend before.

I'm going in December as well! We booked Camelot Inn but I'm keeping my eye out for better deals.

I'll check occasionally, but I don't expect a better rate.

Is anyone else worried about the construction of the Eastern Gateway and park access on Harbor? I booked the Fairfield Inn for December but now I'm worried.

I'm slightly concerned, but since I will most likely be in an ECV, I want something as close as possible. I might make a reservation at the HoJo's since they have such nice beds. I'm thinking the distance from there to the main gate isn't truly further than the distance from an onsite room at WDW to the bus and then from the bus to the actual entrance. If I'm good, I can get one or two days on a full battery charge at WDW.

I can't imagine they'll completely close that entrance during construction of the bridge & move of the monorail leaving everyone having to enter through Downtown Disney. Surely they'll have an alternate route or detour for the east side.

Ok my worry has been calmed. Found where they have said on their Disney Parks Blog that guests staying on Harbor will still be able to access the park without having to go through the new eastern gateway. Hopefully this holds true!
