I took the day off work...a me day of sorts. Woke up bright and early, got the kids off to school and sat down with a cup of coffee, the phone and lap top. No luck booking our reservations online, I got the same error that many people are getting when trying to book online so a quick call into the reservation center and I was able to book everything that we wanted for our trip!

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for supper on the day we are in AK and also any recommendations for inside the MK?? I have already booked breakfast at Tusker House, Cinderella's Royal Table and supper at Liberty Tree....any more recommendations?

Kids? What ages? Ever been to WDW before? Using WDW transport or driving? What resort are you staying at? ------ all these will help us give better advice.

3 kids: dd 4, dd 8 and ds 11 plus myself and dh. We are staying at AoA and will be using Disney transportation. We have been - but only once before! This will be our last trip for awhile and I am trying to make it as memorable as possible for all of us! Thanks.

My kids, DS7 and DD6, insist on eating at Rainforest Cafe for dinner after the day at AK. We did this last year and it worked out well. We made our reservation for just after the park closes. My kids are picky eaters, so there are not many places at AK my kids will eat, other than Restarantosaurus, so Rainforest Cafe is our best choice for TS dinner. The food is pretty good, and you get plenty to eat. I had the fajitas last year and they were very good. It is mostly for the kids. They love the atmosphere. It is loud, busy, and service can be slow, but they love it, and my wife and I just roll with it.
In MK we always eat lunch at Columbia Harbour House. My wife likes the salmon, and the kids menu is good for my kids. In Feb 2013 we are having breakfast at CRT (paying out of pocket to save TS credits), lunch at Casey's Corner (it is my son's birthday and he loves hot dogs), and dinner at Be Our Guest. The dinner menu at BOG looks amazing!

Thanks for the update, OP!

Since AK closes early, this is an awfully good night to do an evening dinner 'event'. If you can live with the cost ($$ oop or 2 TS credits) then HDDR would be a great option; probably the 2nd show of the night to allow you transport time. If the food interests you, 'Ohana would be another good option for this dinner. Take the bus straight from AK to the Poly. After dinner, roll your over-stuffed selves down to the Poly beach and watch the Electric Water Pagent and then a distance view of Wishes (adult beverages optional for Mom & Dad). Then take the boat or monorail to MK and then a bus back to AoA.

For meals on an MK day: have you checked out the CS locations at the monorail resorts? Contempo Cafe has nice food choices plus the coolness factor of eating with the monorail running by overhead. Capt Cook at the Poly is lovely for a hot day since your CS credit dessert choices include a self-serve cup of Dole Whip (pineapple, vanilla, or swirl). Each Deluxe resort now also has unique cupcakes. And all resort CS locations have expanded entree options at dinnertime, if you want to use your TS credit for a breakfast or lunch and then eat a CS dinner. Honestly, the LTT lunch menu choices appeal to me more than their set platter dinner does, but that's really just a matter of personal taste/preferences.

To me the biggest tip is to make your restaurants work with your chosen park/touring preferences, not the other way around. There's good food and snacks everywhere in WDW, so no choice is really "wrong".
