Hello!

Thought I would share some of our experience traveling to Disneyland this week!

Our original: 14 days at WDW at PoP with myself, DH, DD8 and DD10.

Our final plan : 6 days at DL just the adults! We are flying direct from Pearson to LAX. Our trip dates are Aug. 14th to 20th.

Pre-testing : Did the 40$ rapid test through Shoppers on Wednesday for our flight leaving Saturday. So quick and easy to book and do!

Departure Day : Did the online checkin and uploaded our negative tests. Everything went smoothly, though the wait for pre-clearance was quite slow. We were asked to present Attestation forms from the CDC and Air Canada.

Arrival : We currently have been waiting over an hour for our shuttle booked through Super Shuttles (aka Prime Time). I do not recommend them at all!

Looking forward to checking into our hotel and getting a good night's sleep before our first day at the park tomorrow!

Thanks for the update, glad to hear you made it safely! I'm sorry your shuttle wait was so long though. Enjoy your trip!

Prime time is AWFUL!! Read reviews online! Hope you got a ride! We used them many years ago for a ride to cruiseport from Disneyland and it was a nightmare! Showed up an hour late then took us to the wrong cruise pier - dropped us off at a Carnival ship instead of Disney! We had to grab a cab over to Disney. Kept receipts and called and emailed primetime several times after we got home and they ignored us! I ended up challenging the charge on my visa and got my money back :)

Wow! I can't imagine how frustrating the drop off at a Carnival ship instead of Disney would have been! We booked them because of positive experiences in the past in other citites. Turns out it would have been quicker and cheaper to use Uber or Lyft.

We arrived at the Element Hotel hotel quite late, but were pleased to find our room was upgraded. 😁 We have a large suite for just the two of us! Hotel is new, fresh and modern. Pool is quite small so might choose another hotel if we spent much time there.

Thanks for this!

I just asked in a new thread. Every time I try to book the antigen screening test through Shoppers, they tell me I need the PCR ($199) to travel??

Sounds like they are just trying to upsell then? Because clearly the antigen is sufficient! 👍🏼

We leave in 2 days! We test this afternoon at shoppers 🤞
Decided to use Uber or Lyft for transfer…thanks for your tips and we might see you there in a few days! Lol
Have a wonderful time!

I found that most Shoppers locations I spoke to have no idea about anything when it comes to do these tests. One pharmacist said to me, yes it’s no problem for flights to the States but most said they don’t know. Check the CDC website, it’s listed under acceptable tests for entry. Back to Canada has to be PCR, RT-PCT or NAT/NAAT.

Just got our tests! Negative, yey!
Question if you don’t mind, did you list your passport # on the tests?
They asked us for either health card or some other ID and recorded health card # as we didn’t have the passports on us, nobody mentioned it before.
Just wondering what ID you have on your tests?

We did not have our passports. They used our healthcards. When we did our online checkin with AC, we scanned our results. Within a few hours we received a message that our results were approved. No one asked to see them at the airport.

Just wondering if you tried to make any dining reservations for the parks before you left? if you did, were you successful?

We did not make any reservations for this trip. Our hope is to stick to eating outdoors and was not sure how to reserve that for ADRs. We might try walking up and see. The parks were so incredibly quiet today!

Thank-you! Are you and your husband having fun? Are you experiencing jet lag?

Day 1 update... we had an amazing day! We started out in DL 15 minutes before rope drop. Waits were practically non existant for the first 3 hours.... not even for bag check or turnstiles! Some highlights : riding alone in a log at Splash and having our own "ship" for Smugglers Run (after a 15 minute wait 😲). From 8 to noon we had covered all headliners including Rise of the Resistance and all mountains. Longest wait was SM with 20 minutes.

We went back to the hotel for a few hours to get out of the sun and give our feet a rest.

5 to 10 was spend at DCA were we rode Webslinger 😍, Tower, Luigi's, TSM, Soarin and some attractions at the Pier with almost no wait.

As veteran WDW visitors, we love how compact the parks are. Not needing to take any transportation is great. Being able to comfortably eat outside is lovely! Honestly not having to worry about the timing of FPs or ADRs is amazing!

Over 35K steps were logged on Day 1. We might have to slow down the pace as we have 3 more days of tickets! 😂

As for jet lag, I was up super early (5am) and needed that after noon nap.

Have a fantastic time!

One question ....
How long after test did it take to get the results?

I’ve been watching the wait times, as our first day in the parks is next Saturday. The wait times are lower than I’ve seen in years! What an amazing time you must be having!

Sounds so nice! I am getting more excited for our trip thanks to your posts. Thank-you for taking time out of your vacation for the updates.

Are you disappointed that Haunted Mansion is closed? Doing any shopping?
