And it was fabulous. And it was just as fabulous cold this morning. Thats all.

May I ask for your recipe?

I'm no good at making fried chicken. Wish I was. Anytime you try to buy fried chicken they have put too much pepper in the breading.

DH has been craving fried chicken for weeks now. I, unbelievably, have never made it. I, too, would love the recipe.:)

I can't have fried chicken anymore... for the above reason.

I finally got tested for food allergies (never too late at 29... :sad2:) but found out that I have slight, non-life threatening (no anaphlyaxis) to black pepper and salmon.

I miss fried chicken!!!

Yum! I am normally not a fried chicken eater, but I got the Sunday Special at Cracker Barrel this past weekend and it may have been the most delicious meal ever.

I have also never made it myself! Maybe someday. I used to have a roomate that made it and it was so good I know mine will never compare. She never told us what she put in it, it was secret. lol. Miss her!

I bought chicken thighs (because it's what we prefer) and took the skin off. I put them in a large bowl and covered with cold water- I added kosher salt, thyme, season salt and sage- I let them soak all day.

About an hour before dinner I took them out and let them sit on some paper towels.

While they were drying I crushed some corn flakes, added some all purpose flour, salt, pepper, season salt, thyme and sage.

I took 2 eggs and beat them, added about 1 c milk.

I melted 1 c crisco in my electric fryer- set on about 350*

put the thighs in the milk/egg mix and then coated them with the crumb/flour mixture and placed in the fryer. I did 5 minutes per side (4 at a time) after all 8 were done I put them in the oven on a cookie sheet 350* for about 20 minutes.

One problem I always had was getting them done without burning the outside- finishing it off in the oven seemed to do the trick!

It was crispy, moist and delicious!
