I have seen the Disney's Cars windsheild shade eyes for cars but couldn't find one that would fit our RV so I decided to try and make one.

I found a piece of cardboard in our cardboard recycling dumpster. Looks like a neighbor got a new TV 55". Little short on the with but I'll made it work. I measured our windshield and traced it out on the cardboard.

I looked online and found some eyes that looked like the ones from Cars and printed them out. I glued them down after spraying the colors measuring to make sure they were evenly apart.

Bought the spray paint from Walmart and painted the eyes white then made the eyelids grey as that looks best for our RV. Took some time deciding on how I wanted the eyelids to look but I am happy how they came out. The big square cut out is to fit our rear view camera monitor.

So here is how the final product looks on our RV.

ArielRae, would you mind even a little, if I grabbed your idea and du
plicated it? Scince I have never seen the original windshield screen, this very fantastic "camper come to life" idea is all yours, from my point of view.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....May I copy you? We've got some 'Cars coolness never dies' fans here, they'd just go bonkers that we just got one of our own, all because of a strategic piece of cardboard.....
Beautiful job, great craftsmanship!

Go right ahead! :goodvibes

Love to see how yours turns out.

Let me know if you need any help. I'll let you know in more detail how it was made.

:thanks:

In kindergarten, I hated art when I came up with a unique twist on the art project, only to see later, a whole row of construction paper owls suspiciously like mine.... You are more magnanimous than I! :flower3:

Posting any other details would be super, when you get around to it, not just for me, but for what I'd suspect would be a whole row of young family campers in the years to come, who want to try a good idea when they see it!

A tip when planing out how you want your eyelids. I used strips of paper to help visualize how it would look before I committed myself. Played around with different emotions.:goodvibes

I used google images to find the eyeballs which was harder then I thought it would have been. Some were to small and others had watermarks. If you have a hard time making or finding eyes I can try and find the ones I used and message you where they are.

For the white part of the eyes I found using the Kilz primer spray paint perfect and it gave a nice thick coating to cover the cardboard.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Where there was a will you made a way!!!! It came out so cute....now to name it. Maybe MOTORHOMER...LOL

I LOVE THIS! WELL DONE!!! I'm adding it to my honeydolist! First he has to finish our Mickey Lamp post and PVC Sign holder but he for sure will have to get this done too. Good thing he has until Aug.
Thanks for the great idea!!!

Funny you mentioned that. They seem too. :goodvibes

If anyone makes their own version I would love if you post pictures please.

Where did you find the eyes? I've been googling eye clip art and can't seem to find anything that works?
