Disney Park set to get new nighttime party
    January 11th, 2012

Disney California Adventure will launch a new nighttime extravaganza this summer to replace the popular “Tron”-themed parties, Disney announced Wednesday (today).

The “Mad T Party” will be designed after Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” movie and will run in California Adventure’s Hollywood Pictures Backlot.

The party is set to replace ElecTRONica, an entertainment feature with dancing and performances based on the movie, “Tron: Legacy.”

Disney plans to feature a live band, entertainment, games and dancing as part of the “Mad T Party,” which will include characters from the movie.

Special foods and beverages will be part of the nighttime events, according to Disney.

Nighttime entertainment, including parties, have helped boost business at California Adventure.

The park first began the nighttime parties with Glow Fest in summer 2010.

ElecTRONica began in October 2010. Because of its popularity, ElecTRONica was extended several times.

The “Mad T Party” will begin as California Adventure wraps up its $1-billion makeover project, including Cars Land that opens this summer.

I'm wondering how the "live band" will work. It was nice in ElecTRONica when the stage show ended and then the DJs took over. I'm concerned that using a band will cause a lot of gaps in the evening. It's not like sitting in a bar where you get up and dance while the band plays then go back to your table when they take a break.
