Do all the balloons from the Thanksgiving day parade go down to US for the Holiday parade? Has anyone been there this year and do they have the giant Pikachu balloon?

It would make my daughter's trip if it was there :)

Thanks

Just finished watching the parade. It is fabulous. No character balloons. All Christmas theme. There is no picachu. I recommend not sitting near the despicable me ride. Very crowded and lots of movement during the parade!!!

To answer your question; no, none of the balloons from the Thanksgiving Parade go to US. US has their own set of Macy's balloons that they use in their parade. Still a fun parade to watch.

I would try and get a seat close to the Christmas tree (I believe across from Mummy) if you can.

Actually I'm pretty sure all the balloons are from the parade. At least, I know the purple hippo from the Macy's parade that was new this year has made it to the park. I'd think the others would have come from there as well.

But no, Pika isn't there. It's all small ballons, like stars and elves.

All of the balloons in the parade at USF HAVE flown in NYC in the parade. It is a great parade. No characters, but the new purple hippo is there. The Grinchmas show is very good as well.

Yep, purple hippo is new this year. If you watch on thanksgiving they even make reference that some will be at US in Fl.

"The newest addition to the Universal Orlando Christmas line-up is Happy Hippo, a giant purple character based on a classic Macys Thanksgiving Day balloon from decades ago. Shes made her return at the request of Universals own entertainment director Laura Wallace whos a fan of the novelty song I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas (my own favorite as well). The Macys team developed the new balloon to be showcased in the New York parade before heading down to Florida to make regular appearances. Not only does Happy Hippo float through Macys Holiday Parade but she is also featured in her own little show set to that famous song about an hour before the parade comes rolling through. Classic character balloons that once flew through New York but are too big to fit through Universals theme park streets are inflated and situated around the park, including Garfield, Grover, and more." Here is a photo off the hippo in New York before the parade and a photo of the old retired hippo from the 40's. http://www.**************.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/IMG_1801.jpg http://www.**************.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/happy.jpg
