I know there is tons of stroller information out there (almost should be catigory itself). Anyway, after reading all of the great information posted I have come to some conclusions. I have a 1 year old that will need the stroller and 4 and 6 year old girls. The olders are on their own, I am only concerned with the baby. Anyway I have done tons of searchs and gone through e-bay and the best prices seem to be at Albee Baby. I have a price on the Maclaren Quest of $125, including shipping or $159 for the Maclaren Techo, also including shipping. Now I have not had the opportunity to see these in person so that is where I need some assistance. I did go to Babys R Us and pushed the Triumph around. I loved the feel but agreed with some other posters that the seat was small. So I am left with the Quest as a base (need a reclining seat) and Techno as the next step up. Is it worth the extra money to get the Techno? On top of all this I did see the Combi Savvy Soho at Target for $69. This is a big difference in price so I really need some help from those who have seen and tried all of the strollers. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Hi,
Like you, I got lots of info before buying. Due to the wonderful advise I got on these boards, I am very happy with my Mac Techno. I got last years model from albee baby. I have only had it a few months but, I walk about 3 miles almost every day. DD (20mnths) & I love it. DH (6' tall)loves the expandable handles. One thing I insisted on is the recline. We have never used it every, time we try DD screams. I have no idea if it is the stroller, or if she just hates lying down while strolling these days. I find the seat plenty roomy (DD weights apprx 25lb). It is incredibly easy to push. I even used the rain cover it comes with one day, and that was pleasantly simple. (although it did take me a couple of minutes to figure out how. (I didn't recieve a manual).
No complaints about albee baby. I was a bit hesitant, as I don't usually shop online. They were very efficient & prompt. Oh, one of my wheels squeeked at first, but seems fine now.
All in all I am extremely happy with both the stroller & the purchasing experience.
Sorry, I can't be any help with the quest or other strollers. I really hated to spend the $ it costs for the Techno as this is my last baby, but honestly I have no regrets.
Good luck.
ps no I don't work for albee baby or Mac. lol

I had a Combi and didnt like it very much. It wasnt very roomy and didnt feel very stable. It was a bit shaky and didnt feel sturdy. I now have a Maclaren Volo and love it. Very sturdy and solid feeling and looking and fits my 6 1/2 wonderfully. Pushes much better than my Combi did. :flower:

Another Mac Techno Classic lover here !! Just bought one for DGrD (20mos) a couple of months ago and LOVE it - wish I'd had one for my kids !! We walk on the boardwalk a lot and she is very comfy in it (big girl, weighs over 30 lbs already!) - the rain cover is super easy to put on/off and she is very comfortable inside it - I like having the little window in the hood so I can see if she's asleep yet or not ! I also bought through albeebaby and had no problems.

Thanks for all of the great info. I am now convinced not to buy a combi. Now I just need to decide between the Quest and Techno. Anyone out there have any experience with the Quest? Seems a lot of people have the Techno but there is a considerable price difference so I was wondering if I was making a mistake buying the Quest.

I am a HUGE fan of the Combi. We used it for DS on our trip last year and it worked so well. It pushed well and the best part was how lightweight and easy to fold it was. The carrying strap was beyond nice on the busses. The basket is not the largest but that is the only negative thing I can think of to say about it. We LOVE the Combi. :)

I have the Combi and the Mac Quest and love both, so I'll tell you the differences I noticed.
We bought the Combi for our last trip for my just turned 3yo and it worked great (folded very nice, had storage, easy to push, but was a little unsturdy I believe because of how it folds up so compactly) I loved it and was hooked! But now I'm getting ready for our next trip in two weeks and pulled out the Combi and put him in it and he must have had a growth spurt because it was hard to push and not as smooth, I thought no way am I going to be able to push this around for a week-- so I just bought the Mac Quest, because the seat is bigger, it's sturdier and now holds more weight (I was going to buy the 2004 model but it only holds 40lbs and the new 2005 model can hold up to 55lbs so I splurged and got it-- I know I will be going to disney again or other vacations so the weight limit was a major factor for me cause I want to get all I can out of it).
So now i'm taking both:
Combi for my 11 month old
and Mac Quest for my 3yo
Both are good strollers but if you want to use it for a longer time I would get the Mac Quest
