How do I use photos? I click on it to open from Finder & then it just opens to the last photo I had open. Where the heck do I see my other photos?
I just uploaded several hundred photos from an Android & it said it uploaded to "T"....whatever that means. Can you help me find my photos?

Do you have the little colorful circle on your bar? Click that and see if they are there. If not, try uploading one pic from your phone (even if it's a same photo) and make note of where it says it's going. You'll find them.

Open a finder window. There should be a search input field in the upper right corner of the window (it will have a little magnifying lens in it). Then:
  1. Click on the search input field and type "jpeg" (without the quotes). As you type it, you'll see a little menu pop down from where you are typing. Click on "Kinds: JPEG image"
  2. Under the input field is a + button. Click it. A new filter will appear under where you clicked. From the dropdown that says "Kind" select "Created Date." In the next menu select "within last" and put in a number of days (where you know you have a picture that was taken.. e.g.- if you took pictures in the last week that were uploaded, put in 7 here.
  3. You should see some images shown below. Single Click on one that looks like it came from your camera. You can hit the spacebar to preview it to make sure. Once you find one of your images, take note of the path/folders listed at the bottom of the window. You can hover over them, to see where they are. Double Click on the folder that is holding that image, and it will open the folder that contains the image. From here you should be able to figure out where they are.
  4. Note- it is also possible (Depending on how you copied them over from your Android device) that the "created" date is the date you transferred them to your computer. If that is the case, put 1 in the "within last days" section (if you transferred them over today).

No problem. It looks like Android File Transfer puts the images inside of your Photos library (which is why they might not show up in a finder search). Take a look here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205063#photos . If this is the case, do you have the "photos" app on your Mac? You can hit "Command-Spacebar" then type "Photos" (without the quotes), and double click the round photos icon.. see if the images have been added to an album there.

Erm. I just noticed you said you dont see them in the Photos app (my bad.. I read too fast). I would guess that they didn't actually import then. You may want to try again. One question- how many photos did you import, and how long did it take to do the import. If you imported a bunch, and the import was "instant", it likely didn't import them.

I would guess that it didn't transfer then, unfortunately. I would recommend giving it another try. There is one other way to do the transfer using Android File Transfer:

  1. Make a new folder on your desktop to hold the new photos. Name it "Android Photos" or something like that.
  2. Connect your android device to your mac
  3. Run the Android File Transfer application
  4. Move the Android File Transfer window, so that you can see your "Android Photos" folder on your desktop.
  5. Select the photos you want to transfer over (you should be able to click the first image in the list, scroll to the bottom, hold down the shift key, then click the last photo, which should select all photos in between, or you can drag a rectangle around all the photos you want to transfer).
  6. Drag the selected photos from the Android File Transfer window, to the folder on your desktop.
  7. After transfer, double-click the folder to make sure they are there.
