Hi! Does anyone have a Mac mini and use it for a desktop? We need to replace our pc and really Like our itouch, iPhone and itv. We want to get an apple but they are so much more in price. So we started looking at the Mac mini. Anyone have one, do you like it? Any info would be great. We were thinking if we do this we will need to get a Bluetooth mouse/ keyboard.

You can plug your mouse and keyboard into USB ports on the Mac Mini.

If you won't have enough USB ports on the Mac Mini, you can get a thing at Staples which you plug into one USB port, and it has 5 USB ports in it.

If your keyboard and mouse are the old PS2 rather than USB, you can get a thing at Radioshack to plug them into to convert them to USB.

The Mac Mini is a lot less expensive than the other Mac desktops, so it can be a good starting point if it's your first Mac. On the off chance that you hate it (which you won't), you will have invested the least amount of money.

I bought a refurbished Mac Mini from Apple 1.5 years ago for my DD11 and we love it! I couldn't stomach how much the iMac was (plus the monitor at that time didn't look as *sexy* as it does now). DD's school uses Mac so when my old PC desktop kicked the budget we went this route. Plus we have an iPhone, iPod touch and Mac AirPort.

As the PP stated, it is a good entry point to Mac to decide if you like it or not. It does take a little while to get used to how Mac does things when you're used to Windows OS. So far the only frustrating thing I've come across is the 'rainbow wheel of doom' when the CPU gets overloaded.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

I use several Mac Minis at work and they are great! You will save a lot of money even if you still need to purchase a monitor to go with them, instead of purchasing an iMac (although my main work computer is a 27" iMac which I love). I have not had a problem with any of them and they run as well as my iMac.
