M20 Services?

Hello,

I'm driving to Europe soon (not Disney this time). We usually leave home early (to get the M25 bit over with) and then stop for breakfast on the way down to the Eurotunnel.

We've previously stopped at Maidstone services on M20 which is OK. We've also stopped at another service station nearer to the Eurotunnel but last year it only seemed partially open/finished. I've also noticed there is a Tesco very near to that services too and wondered if I'd be better stopping there.

Where does anyone recommend for breakfast and possibly a petrol top up?

I live in Ashford so can hopefully help.

Junction 9 has a cinema complex just by it with a KFC, MacDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut (plus a couple of other sit-down type places) with normal prices rather than service station. But, you'd have to drive a bit further into Ashford on that side (still only 5 minutes or so) to get to a Petrol Station (nearest is Sainsbury's at Bybrook if you want to look it up)

Junction 10 has a tesco less than a minute away with fuel, etc. Would definitely work out cheaper than a services. They also have a cafe, but I've never used it so wouldn't know what prices were like.

Thanks for your reply, I think I will give Tesco a try this year. If the cafe isn't open at least I'll be able to pick up some stuff for a picnic breakfast.

The Folkestone services (24/7?) didn't seem finished when we dropped in on our way home last year so I'm not ready to risk visiting it again.

hobbesy is spot on with that - depending on whether your car is diesel or petrol would depend on which side of the channel you fill up on!

Auchan diesel at Calais was 1.289 Euros on Wednesday whereas petrol I believe is cheaper here in the UK - don't really look as only interested in diesel!
