M.E., late arrival and delivery of luggage

I have read and read the M.E. threads, but there are sooo many of them and I can't find the answer to this-
So we are arriving @ MCO at 10 p.m. via SW- I know that I can either not tag my luggage w/the M.E. tags, get my own luggage off the carosel at the airport, then catch ME- or I can tag the luggage and let disney deliver the luggage- knowing that disney can take hours to get it to our room-

can you tell M.E. to just store your luggage at the hotel's baggage check and that you will retrieve it in the a.m.? or do they HAVE to deliver it directly to your room?

we are thinking about bringing enough clothes, etc. in our carryon bags and going to check into our hotel, but don't want to be woken up at 1 a.m. when they deliver the luggage (beauty sleep you know )

That's EXACTLY what I plan to do in November -- we land around 9:45 p.m. The luggage can absolutely be held/stored for you until a decent hour.

But don't bother telling the people at the DME Welcome Center at the airport, however, because they have nothing to do with the actual delivery of luggage within your resort. Wait 'til you get to your resort, and use this 3-pronged approach:

- ask at the Front Desk to have your DME luggage held 'til morning
- ask Bell Services to have your DME luggage held 'til morning
- put the Do Not Disturb sign on your outside doorknob

Those three redundant systems should preserve your sleeping hours quite nicely.
