I don’t know how it happened. Back in November 2002, we took our first trip to WDW. It was a wonderful magical time, but when we returned I couldn’t look at the pictures. I got a treadmill, starting walking daily and watched what I ate and by November 2003, I was down 50 pounds. Slowly the pounds are creeping back. I am at 160 now and terrified that I am back to my old tricks. There’s only one thing to do. I’ve got to get serious again!

ABOUT Me: I’m 41, married with two teenagers. I work part time in a bookstore for Disney money. Our family has written several trip reports together about our adventures in WDW. Now I’m on an adventure of my own.

Where I am now: I’m 5’5’’and 160.

Where I want to be:
I’d like to get down to 140, but mostly I want to feel better about how I look and just feel better.

Goals:
1) Treadmill at least 45 minutes a day.
2) Weight training twice a week.
3) Three meals, two snacks. Stay away from the sweets.
4) Plan my meals.
5) Write here each day, good or bad.

Our next trip is June 2009. We are going to both water parks. I want to swim. I want to be able to look at our pictures without pain. I want to wear cute clothes. Can I do it?

Did you watch the Oprah today? She was very honest about the issues she has had in the last year.
A couple of Questions she had to think about:

What are you really hungry for?

What is it that you really want?

I'm going to trying and think about these things this week. Not just the surface issues of I want to look cute in a bathing suit, but I want acceptance and love.
I know one of mine : I want to feel comfortable in my own skin. I always feel like I take up too much room in the world.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll come up with more as I go.

My eating today was horrible, but I did 35 minutes on the treadmill. yeah me!

Came home from work sick today. Wouldn't you know it? Eating was terrible, but I did walk 35 minutes this morning. I would get back on tonight if I could shake this headache.

Lynn, you can absolutely do it! You are really smart to get on program before all your weight comes back on. I watched Oprah and it was a good show. I have been thinking about those questions and writing some thoughts down as well. It really has to be a mental thing as much as a physcial one.

Your goals sound very attainable, you can do this! Nothing like a trip to WDW to motivate you to be healthy, its a lot of walking and bathing suit time!

Hey! Thanks for the encouragement! I'm hoping I can stay the course. It's just so easy to say, "Oh, it's only one doughnut. What can it hurt?" Then it's one doughnut every morning and I'm here.

I don't know if you work but I really have a hard time turning down sweets there. My boss brings in doughnuts on the days he opens and he makes me feel so guilty if I don't have one. I haven't had one for two weeks though. Yeah me!!

Lynn, I don't work outside the home, but when I did, doughnuts were always a challenge! At my last job we had doughnut day at least once a week and then there was the leftovers. They are deadly little things, fried and sweet! Just do your best, maybe eat a half of one? Its a hard struggle but I know you will do it! Keep up the good work.:thumbsup2

No exercise today, but my eating was good! I stayed up way too late last night and couldn't get up this morning to walk. I've been having trouble with headaches every day and today is a painfree day and to tell the truth, I'm scared of it coming back if I get on that machine. I know, lame excuse. It seems like I've had this same head ache for a week. It just goes away and comes back!

Sunday is my weigh in day. So far my progress is random.
