Lyft or Uber from WDW to Port Canaveral?

Does anyone have any experience using Lyft or Uber traveling from a WDW resort to Port Canaveral for cruises?

If so, what tips can you offer?

I already have an Uber account but have not used Lyft.

Probably no one because if people were going that route not taking the bus or renting a car they will have a limo which will probably be cheaper than über. I would look into limos in the area if I was you.

The rate for limos was significantly higher than the estimate for Uber in my research.

Uber estimates it at $140-180 for Uber Black. Happy Limo estimate I just saw was $123 for a town car. I think the biggest problem you are going to see is that drivers may not want to drive all that way since they may not easily find a return fare.

We use a car service -- no hassle and they know the drill at the port.

We took an Uber XL (family of 5) from BLT to Port Canaveral and it was $131. I'm not sure I would rely on being able to hail an Uber when you get back to Port Canaveral -- when I checked it on our last trip, it was 20 minutes away, and then there would be no cars available. I would be nervous that surge pricing would go into effect -- then the $110 to the airport would get really expensive (our same driver agreed to meet us at Port Canaveral on debarkation, so we had one lined up -- Once I got into his car, I "called for" uber and he immediately picked up the ride).

There may be more coverage now, but this was as of february.

I think we would only use it one way and take Disney transport back to MCO from the Port.

If it is more than $40 or $45 total then it is too much. We have an Avis rental in Aug to the port for $45 with all fees and taxes included.
