LV to Anaheim..Pre-trip report to DLR November 20-23

A couple of updates.....we have looked over our budget for the next three months, and decided if we wanted to go safely to DL with having a good soft $ cushion we are going to postpone the DL trip until November. That is ok, gives me more time to get things settled with my new job, and more time to plan out. So backing down the countdown
We have been graciously offered the use of a beach house in San Diego by our dear friends for the weekend of my DS's bday. YEAH, another trip to plan I am excited that we are able to do all this travelling in the next few months. I am currently looking at prices for the zoo, wild animal park and Seaworld, and seeing who has the best Halloween setup. Any suggestions would be great.
Off I go to plan and plan and plan!!!!!!

I'm sorry you had to bump back your trip, but at least you'll still be able to go. And San Diego is such a nice place. How cool that you get to use a friends beach house! It's been too long since I've been to Sea World and I'd love to go back.

I dont know whether I should give the DL tickets on his bday or not. Since we are not going to DL until Novemeber, his anticipation would build up for a month prior to the trip. My thought was to get him a special little something when we go to San Diego (like a Dine with Shamu thing at Sea World). Then spring the tickets on him a couple of weeks later. Mmmmmmm, any suggestions? I am the worst when it comes to making decisions like this. I have a type A personality, which means I am always second guessing myself.

I asked for a quick hug, and he leaned up against me, and said "Mom, not in public!". I said ok, and wished him a great day. Then I felt the tears welling up in my eyes I barely got to my car, and started crying. I was worse than his first day in first grade! When I got to work, the girls were very supportive, and also saying that it is time to cut that umbilical! I cant believe he is in third grade. It is going by wayyyyy too fast! I went through my day in a daze. Hopefully today will be better, even though I felt the tears again starting as I just watched him go off to school. I need to keep myself busy and it looks like my DD is going to have no problem helping me with that problem! Talk to you guys later!

No I havent seen the christmas decorations, so I am really excited to be able to see the overlay.
We decided to wait and give him the tickets a couple of days prior to the trip. we are thinking about packing the car, then picking him up from school and driving straight to Anaheim. I dont think he will ask anything until we are at Stateline. Hopefully I will be able to keep my mouth shut long enough

I hate secrets! I mean I like them but I can't keep them! I told my DD when she was 8 that there was no Easter Bunny. I thought she was old enough. SHe cried and cried then cried again the following Christmas that Santa wasn't real and she just wanted to "believe"

Talk about a tear jerker. Literally, it is the single most worst decision I have EVER made as a parent. WHAT AN EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDIOT!

I tried to back pedal and make stuff up like I was just kidding.. but it was ruined. She was Really in bad shape. I shudder when I think about it.

So...whatever happens at least know that you could never be as bad of a secret keeper as I am

Oh yea, and I bought a pair of shoes for her the other day ...was plannign on saving them and using them as a xmas present.. NOPE! I gave them to her. I SUCK.

One year I hid a bike in my closet for my DS's main christmas gift from Santa. We are getting ready for christmas eve mass, and my stupid brain thought nothing of it when i called my DS into my bathroom to get his hair done, and my closet is wide open, bicycle in full view! Needless to say, he goes "Hey Mom, what is that bicycle doing in your closet?"
I ran him out of the room as fast as possible, but you could see the smile creep on his face. I didnt say anything the rest of the evening, hoping to avoid a confontation about "Santa". It worked, and on Christmas morning, I tagged the bike To DS From Mom and Dad. The secret is still safe.
