My adult step-daughter and I are going in January and have decided to do only one purchased meal a day in the Parks to keep our budgets down. I have made my ADRs with budget in mind but realize that we will need to bring a light meal for days when we are in the parks over 2 meal times.

We will have a fridge for our room at Pop Century and can therefore keep some items cold in the room :cool1: but I am thinking of bringing a collapsible cooler for lunches and water/pop to keep in a locker - this would also give us a place to store sweaters and light jackets for evenings.

So, I need light lunch/supper ideas that I could hopefully pre-purchase along our route or before we leave home (we're driving to Florida). :confused3

Some things I've come with are:
1. tuna/crackers (the kind I am thinking of comes in a package with the tuna in tins that have a pop top)
2. wraps spread with cream cheese
3. wraps with broccoli slaw or salad filling
4. Lunchables
5. granola bars, cookies and crackers with cheese (for snacks)

That's all I could come up with...it's been a while since I packed a lunch for my kids to take to school and when I take my lunch to work, I use a microwave:scared1: to reheat leftovers so any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

tortilla with tuna rock, tortillas with peanut butter, Slimfast bars (without choclate), BAGELS, fruit, poptart.
Thats all I take most of the time

I use an insulated tote for the older kids with a double zip loc baggie of ice, frozen solid in the fridge. Then take celery pieces with cream cheese, turkey wrap with the single serving size mayo packets.

THe welches fruit snacks. Pretzles. Capri packets drinks,

In the parks, we snack on soft[retzles, and a spatzle of something like a pastry pretzle in Epcot, The tomorrow land space ship place has an inexpensive lunch.

I enjoyed the dinners served at the values a lot!

All the things you mention we have taken too.
Just don't put as much cost into it as would cost to eat there. Add a wrap, piece of fruit, or tuna crackers, and fruit cup to throw away.
Celery with cubes of cheese. The fish pretzles,

The dollar tree has several snack, also Dollar General has the tuna and chicken with crackers for .99 cents.

we always pack snacks/lunch for the parks and eat breakfast in the room, we don't like using "park hours" for sit down meals, when we could be riding rides and seeing sights! also, like saving $$ for shopping and a few nicer dinners!

We take granola bars, beef sticks and cheese (slice up and put in ziplocks), crackers, water bottles (one frozen to keep stuff cold, then to drink as it thaws) with the powder flavor packs.. also, any counter service restaurant will give you free ice water to refill... and we find that DH's tummy doesn't get so upset on the rides when he stays away from drinking soda all day! :lmao:

Trail mix, fruit, beef jerky, pudding cups.... mainly we like things that we can eat on the go, or at least standing.. we use the time waiting in line for a ride to grab a bite.. which also saves time, and instead of a big lunch in the middle of the day, we just do small grazing all day, so body stays energized, and tummy never feels over-stuffed (and ready for a nap!):scared1:

I'm not sure if they can be found everywhere but around here you can buy those little stick pretzels in individual boxes for lunches and snacks. They're less likely to get pulverized in the boxes than in bags.

Some grocery stores have begun to carry pre-cut apple slices in large bags. Take some Ziploc bags and buy some caramel cups for a yummy dessert.

Same thing with baby carrots. Get a big bag of them and parcel them out into Ziplocs. Buy some ranch dressing in individual cups for diping.

Spread a tortilla with mustard and roll with ham & cheese. Don't forget to pack a pickle on the side.

Bumblebee also sells chicken salad and crackers similar to the tuna salad packets.

Freeze some seedless grapes. They don't smoosh as easily and even if they haven't thawed completely, they are still great to eat.

Dried fruit, granola, gorp, etc. all travel well and provide lots of energy.

Drinkable yogurts
Bagels and cream cheese
Peanut butter's great on lots of stuff-lol
Clif Bars

We brought turkey and cheese on bread int he hard sided sandwich containers. But my friend was smart and when she stopped at Chck Fil A before the trip she grabbed extra mayo and mustard packs- that way she could put them on the sandwich when she was ready to eat and they didn't get all soggy!

we bring our own sandwhiches (H&C) and snacks..

snacks rang from: Chips, pretzels, teddy grahms, baby carrots, grapes, Welch fruit snacks, Chcolate granola bars (for me and DW), yogurt.

for drinks we bring small water bottles (both in the cooler and a bag) and the small gatorade bottles.
