Saw the menus for the CS places within the parks and it looks like weak fast food. Any better options outside? We'll have a car, but don't want to spend too much time driving around. Is DTD near the waterparks ? Or which resorts are nearby? TIA!

DTD is just around the corner from TL. If there were sidewalks, you could walk to Cirque. I don't think the food is so bad at either water park.

If you have a car, I think it's definitely worth it to go offsite. We liked Steak N Shake on the 535/Vineland just a few blocks from DTD. Great burgers and shakes, plus good salads. We paid $80 at SciFi for similar food that we paid $30 for at Steak N Shake, and SNS was much better. There are TONS of restaurants in this area, as well as all along the 192 (closer to BB). Within 10 minutes from the parks you will have dozens of choices, no matter which direction you go. Just about any of them are better than mediocre CS places in the parks.

TL is near DTD which has the best CS restaurant at Disney - Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace (better than the one on the WestSide).

BB is close to Coronado Springs Resort and the Pepper Market is a pretty decent place to eat.

We like to stop @ POP food court after Typhoon Lagoon:)which we've been known to drive to when staying elsewhere onsite that has more limited CS offerings.

The worst burger I've ever eaten I ate at Blizzard Beach,it was like a cold hockey puck.As others have said TL is literally on the other side of the street from DTD and 535/Apopka Vineland road is less than a 5 minute drive and full of restaurants,Blizzard Beach is a little further away on the western edge of WDW but still not too far from 535 or you can take Sherberth rd from the Animal Kingdom exit to 192 where you'll find a lot of places to eat,the suggestion of the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs is a good one as well, you're also right by the All Stars with their food courts.Even though on later visits to the Disney waterparks the food has been better than the cold hockey puck, both parks still lag well behind of Sea World's waterpark,Aquatica, many more choices and even a buffet.

Thanks for the suggestions! I decided on the DxDP today, so we'll be limited to restaurants on the plan. Sounds like Wolfgang Puck Express (is that the one that is in the same location as the Cafe, or the other one?) in DTD would be a good option for TL or maybe a Food Court at a value resort, and for BB the Pepper Market in Coronado Springs would be fine too. I've never eaten at WP, even though I've meant to eat there a few times, and this may be my chance to do it.
