OMG

It is SOOOO worth the money. Kevin and I just got back from WDW a week ago, and this will be the 2nd review I'll do of our trip.

They do not do dinner anymore. Only lunch is available, and only certain days of the week. It is $65 per person plus tax AND tip.

We had lunch on Friday, June 3rd. with Theron Skees. He is an Imagineer at MGM and was one of the key people behind Tower of Terror 4. As the WDI creative show producer for Disney-MGM Studios, Skees works with lighting and interior designers, conceptualists, writers and architects on every creative aspect of the theme park. Skees also has an extensive background in sculpting, thematic painting and design.

I'll do a full review tonight, when I get home from work, with what lunch entailed and photos etc.

Oooooh, I'd like to hear about this one too, Mister Disney!!!

Our Mark (you remember, our guest "conductor" on our train tour ;) ) is an aspiring Imagineer, and I've had this activity on our "to do" list for a while now . . .

Tonight, I'll post a seperate review for the lunch with an imagineer and start on my "daily log" review of each day. Tonight will be Arrival day, which included "dolphins in depth" behind the scenes tour at Epcot Living Seas, the GF Spa, V&A, and EMH at MK

Deb...you and I need to work on a "joint" review of the train tour. I didn't get a chance to resend the 1st set of photos to you last night, but will do so tonight.

Just to clarify: Imagineers are NOT animators. Imagineers are the ones that come up with the rides, park theming, etc.

Disney fired all their animators in Florida a while back. There are now only a few in California.

I just didn't want you to get your hopes up about meeting someone who created a character, for instance.

I can't wait for Lunch with an Imagineer when we make our trip to the World in November. Aside from and entertaining and informative lunch maybe I also will earn a little respect from my family and they won't think of me as just a "geeky" engineer after this.

OK . . . but it might take a few days. Oh, no rush on the pics . . . whenever you get a chance.
We were thinking about using one of the family pictures for our Christmas cards . . . is that OK with you?

Wow! I think it would be just too cool to have lunch with an Imagineer! Hurry up and write your review! :flower:

Just thought I"d throw in my 2 cents!!! I have been to both Lunch with an Animator and Lunch with An Imagineer. First, both times, the meal at the Brown Derby was fabulous!!. You get a choice of entree, plus soup, individual Cobb salad, and a yummy dessert( don't remember what it was, but i thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Waiters are very attentive, and meals were made to order; they asked if there were any allergies, dislikes, etc.
Lunch with an Animator, I was lucky enough to do right before the animators left. Ours was Sam Ewing, who did Koda from Brother Bear. He was absolutely phemonimal!! answered each and every question, made us all feel like family. in fact lunch was only supposed to last about 2 hrs, I think we were there at least 3 hours. The Lunch with an Imagineer I did last year.
again the meal was awesome. Our guest Imagineer was good, but definitely not as outgoing, or forthcoming as the animator. There were 2 young guys just starting college, who had come with the intent of finding out the best way to slant their education in the hopes of becoming an Imagineer. I think they were a little disappointed that their questions were sort of dodged, alot of her answers were "That's a Disney secret". At any rate, it was a great experience. If you can swing it, definitely do it!!! PS you can also get pictures, get your menu signed, and get an LARGE engraved plate that the guest speaker will personalize and sign for you. Enjoy!!
