Looking for a CS suggestion for our AK/HS day. We will be at AK for EMH. Last time we went to AK, we didnt spend too much time there. If we stay at the park , I'm thinking Yak and Yeti CS but, if we're ready to shoot out.... we can go to any other resort before heading to HS. We have a 6 pm Mama Melrose/Fantasmic pkg. Just exploring options. Dont really want to spend too much time traveling but, since we cant go directly by bus from one park to another, if we make our switch somewhere to eat???? Just thoughts... thanks

Animal Kingdom has some great dining options, but I personally would not consider Yak & Yeti counter service to be one of them....though others might love it!

If you like barbecue, you should definitely check out Flame Tree BBQ. The pulled pork sandwich is really tasty & the ribs are very tender and delicious. They also have a wonderful salad and turkey sandwich. The seating is also really great-beautiful view of Everest.

If you head to a resort, you might want to go to AKL & go to the CS place there-Mara. It is really good as well. They have a nice menu and they also have a nice variety of refrigerated items, including zebra domes!! AKL is a really fun resort to visit-you could check out the savannahs after you eat!

If you head to HS around lunch time, I always enjoy going to Pizza Planet!

Large portions of pretty tasty food. Not the fanciest place, but a tradition for us every year.

This year I got the meatball sub w/ caesar salad and a delicious and gigantic coffee flavored cupcake for dessert. The pepperoni pizza isn't too shabby either.

Thanks , I had considered Flame Tree but, I dont like pork, and my DD and I dont like ribs or do chicken on a bone so, I figured it was best to pass on it.

My vote for AK was going to be Flame Tree as well, but I see that's out. My only other CS experience there has been Pizzafari which isn't too bad. As for DHS, I love the sandwiches at Starring Rolls. The menu at Studio Catering Co. doesn't look too bad, but when I was there last week it said they were only open Friday-Monday, closed Tuesday-Thursday.

You CAN go directly from AK to HS. There are park to park buses. There aren't DTD to park buses.

In any event I like Flame Tree BBQ, Pizzafari also has a yummy Italian sandwich.

Flame Tree BBQ. Or head to PoP Century for cheese steak wrap and tie dyed cheesecake. yummy

one thing no one has mentioned about flame tree is the great seating.

usually you would just sit at the closest table. there are table under a pavilion type roof down the path from the food booth.. pass it up, and keep walking down the paht, and then down another..

you'd be amazed at how much seating there is, hidden away,, with water views of the lagoon, or a pond. there are condiments in each pavillion..

it is so nice to get away from the crowds. often we have no one around us at all!!

Starring Rolls at HS would get my vote too. Very good cupcakes. The drawback is that it isn't a very big place and there isn't an abundance of seating.

always an option of getting something at Flame Tree and Pizzafari and eating at one of them. They are both on Discovery Island so the walk is not too far.

Pizzafari obviously has pizza but they have an interesting Hot Italian Sandwich and an antipasto salad that I like.

Two thoughts
There are park to park buses, you can go directly from AK to DHS, no need to go to a resort
Did you book your Mama Melrose dinner on the phone as a Fantasmic dinner package, or did you book your 6 PM ADR on line. If you just booked a time online, it is not the dinner package. The times for the package are usually late afternoon, so a 6 PM time didn't seem right to me.:confused3
I would try Yak & Yeti CS if the menu sounds good to you
Have Fun

For the Quick Service locations in Hollywood Studios I would recommend ABC Commissary or Backlot Express.

However for the Quick Service locations at the Animal Kingdom I would recommend Flame Tree BBQ or Pizzafari.

Yes, thanks, booked the fantasmic pkg over the phone with CM ( thanks for double checking). I was concerned because on my printouts it doesnt show fantasmic pkg but, I have verified it twice now on the phone (just in case 1st one was incorrect )
I didnt know there were park to park buses!!!! So, I think that's really good to know

Appreciate all the responses and suggestions.
