Cabanas was open for lunch on the two Castaway days on the 8/23 cruise. But it wasn't listed in the app schedule.

We only ate at serenity bay BBQ. Menu was tweaked a little each time. Yes, cabanas was also open. Of our 4 days at castaway cay, we ate at serenity bay BBQ twice and cabanas twice. Did not eat anywhere else on the island.

Yes, cookies and cookies too were both open for lunch.

Unpopular opinion: We tried Serenity Bay BBQ twice and were disappointed both times. The steak wasn’t great and the burgers weren’t nearly as good as at Cookie’s. Both times at Serenity Bay I found the steak not really medium rare as requested, kinda chewy, and lacking flavor. The cookies also seemed stale and not great, and we usually love the cookies at Cookies (for ice cream sandwiches). Did we happen to have two random out of the ordinary experiences at Serenity Bay? Has this not been the case for everyone? We stopped trying it and just eat at Cookies now because the burgers there are always hot and flavorful and the cookies are always soft and fresh. I’m not going out of my way for steak if it’s not good steak.

I've found (in the past) that whether it's Cookies or Serenity Bay, the food is pretty much the same. I would be surprised if it wasn't, as it's all prepared onboard at the same time. Except for steak/lobster, which shows up occasionally (although, never in my experience), if there are any left from the night before. Possibly that's why the steak was tough/tasteless, it was started the night before, but not served.

The steaks at Serenity Bay are grilled right there, not prepared onboard or leftover from the night before.
