I'm hoping to make a reservation for a TS lunch for our day at the Magic Kingdom. We could either eat in the park or head to a nearby resort. Which of the following would people reccommend and why.

Liberty Tree Tavern
Kona
Grand Floridian Cafe
Concourse Steak House

Other suggestions? Our goal is to go someplace we haven't been before so no Crystal Palace. I'm also planning an Ohana character breakfast for a different day.

We always go to the Plaza Restaurant every trip. I love their salads and sandwiches. I always get either the Chicken and Pear Salad or the Cheese Steak Sandwich and my husband usually opts for the Reuben. They have a really good german potato salad there too that can accompany your sandwich. All delicious and you can follow it up with a great sundae if you have room.

We usually do Liberty Tree for lunch, or Tony's Town Square, if we're in the mood for Pasta Primavera

Liberty Tree has a really good Pot Roast, and their turkey is excellent as well. Lunch is NOT a character meal, but a regular menu table service, which is a plus for us. It also has the added advantage of NOT trudging out of the park to the monorail and back.

I'd go with Liberty Tree. Their food is delicious and I love the atmosphere. Plus the added bonus of not having to leave the park to eat there.

Thank you for the suggestions!

I looked at the menu and I'm thinking a salad in the park would be nice. Anyone have any thoughts about the Chicken and Pear Salad at the Plaza vs. the Colony Salad at LTT?

Thanks!

Although I love LTT, I, too would vote for the Plaza for lunch. It is so bright and sunny and cheerful in there and the food is "lighter" so you won't feel so weighted down the rest of the afternoon.

I know lots of people leave to go to a monorail resort for lunch, but for me, that is too much effort/wasted time. I'd rather do it at dinner, especially if I wasn't going back into the parks. JMO, though! ;)

Good luck in your decision.

I really like Liberty Tree for lunch.

I've never had either salad so I can't help you with that.

I also love the Plaza for lunch. It's like eating in an old fashioned soda shop!
Lighter foods and traditional sandwiches are a nice break from the fried, fried and more fried items....without a full dinner midday. :thumbsup2
