haveing lunch there on the 14th before mvmcp, how is the food the menu and the pricing, do they have a good selection?

Lunch at the Castle is my favorite spot! Check wdwig.com for prices and items available for lunch there (under the Dining section). My favorite is the Major Domo's Pie - SO GOOD!!! It is a light pastry topped with a scoop of mashed potatoes, tender slices of beef, julienned vegetables on top of that, and a delicious sauce over the whole thing. It is very elegant-looking and very tasty! I practically lick my plate each time :)

When we had lunch in the castle we had wonderful service and enjoyed the whole experience but those that ordered the prime rib were dissapointed a bit. Meat was overdone and dry. We may have just hit an off day as far as the prime rib goes. My bil LOVED Major Domo's pie though!

I absolutely LOVE the castle for lunch! Eaten there 3 times with PS in 4 weeks and 2 days! I've tried prime rib, major domo's pie, but my favorite is the chicken caesar salad.

How funny, we've had a couple of the sandwiches, and really loved them both. They also have that pretzel bread, and we ate a ton of that! Don't have dessert though, much better options in the parks.

I love CRT for lunch. The Major Domo's Pie is YUMMY!!!

Bekkiz,
What dessert's in particular did you not care for?

We've had:
Fantasyland Sundae - raspberry sorbet, fresh seasonal berries, and bananas with chocolate sauce $6

Lemon Poppyseed Pound Cake with mango ice cream and macerated berries $6

Crown Sundae - vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, Mickey sprinkles and a dark chocolate crown on top $5

And a chocolate one that I don't think is on the menu anymore

It's not that I didn't like them (I mean, how hard is it to mess up a sundae?), but they were all sort of pedestrian. For 6 bucks, I could go to the bakery on main street, and have a much better waste of calories!

We ate there once and I would not return. My daughter's pasta was served with shellfish and tomato sauce (she had asked for plain pasta with butter and cheese). When that went back, the next attempt was plain pasta without butter (and we had used all the butter at the table) and the pasta was rather congealed, lukewarm to cold, depending on where you touched. By the time the next order came out, it appeared with the sauce. Everyone is entitled to a mistake or two, but this seemed a little over the top in terms of quality control. After the third strike, I informed the waitstaff that it was OVER and we were leaving. The "chef" came out to apologize and we were given a little tray of mini-desserts. That was a nice gesture, I thought, although they all looked better than they tasted. That probably had something to do with our bad moods!

I'd like some more info on lunch at Cindy's. We're thinking about going on our next trip, and after reading some not-so-great reviews of breakfast, we were wondering if lunch would be a better option. Opinions? I've read the menu on Deb's site and it does sound good.

Also I'd like some more specific info on the restaurant itself. Are the tables really close together, a la Alfredo's at Epcot? I imagine it's probably crowded pretty much all the time, but is it incredibly loud and crowded? I'm just wondering about the atmosphere, as the diners in my party would all be adults.

Thanks! princess:

We really enjoyed our lunch here! We bonused out as Cinderella was in the lobby when we arrived so the girls got to talk to her and she thanked them for" Coming over for lunch". Very cute!
I am still dreaming about Major Domo's Pie! Anybody have the recipe? It was fantastic! The service was excellent and I love the way they are in character as "servants" and call you mylord and mylady! Just a really enjoyable lunch that made our day in the Magic Kingdom extra special! Go and enjoy!!

We have also eaten there for lunch and everyone with us enjoyed their meals. Cinderella was in the lobby and we had photos of her with the Kids. This is now one of our favorites. We have ps for Jan 10th.

hellooothere, you can find the recipe for the Major Domo's Favorite Pie at allearsnet.com.

I have to agree the Major Domo Pie was awsome  , I had that for lunch on our honeymoon in may. The next time we go to WDW I plan on making a PS for lunch there again!!

We had lunch there in 03. It was nice, nothing fabulous but neat. They called hubby The king which he liked and the boys were princes.

I would go back though.
