Lunch at one of the restaurant instead of buffet - do you tip?

We did our first Disney cruise last year and we ate at one of the restaurant for our lunch instead of buffet. I noticed no one was tipping them. We felt weird not tipping them so we left cash tip on the table. Is this appropriate?

What is the protocol on tipping if we eat at restaurant for breakfast/lunch since servers are not our regular assigned servers?

Any suggestions as to how much we should tip them? OK to leave it on the table?

We are going another short trip this November.

Thank you

You certainly can leave a tip, and it is very kind, but it is not required. The server's tips are included in the overall service charge. The people serving you at lunch may not have been your serving team, but they are someone's serving team.

Yes...I tip the server and buster $5 each for our embarkation lunch.

When I go to the buffet. There are buses running everywhere. If a buster goes out of their way to assist me, or I notice someone just working hard. I slip them $5 and tell them thank you for taking care of me.

These people work hard for very low wage. When someone deserves it...I tip them. But only if they deserve it.
