Lunch and Dinner wait times for counter service

Good afternoon!

I have just discovered these wonderful boards as I plan my family's (husband, 5 year old daughter, and me) upcoming trip to DLR in June and I'm very excited to be here! I have done the touringplans customized plans for the two days we'll be in the park (Sunday 6/25 and Monday 6/26), but I haven't gotten a good handle on wait times for counter service food for lunch and dinner. If it's terrible at lunchtime, I'll plan on packing one, but dinner we are definitely going to do in the parks. I am specifically thinking about Harbour Galley, Royal Street Veranda, Pacific Wharf Cafe, and French Market.

I really appreciate any insight anyone can provide on what we can expect. Thank you so much!!

French Market during meal times I've typically waited 5-10 minutes to get into the "cafeteria" area, then how long you wait for food will depend on how many places you stop and what you get, and then I've typically waited for 3-5 parties ahead of me to pay, which will vary how long that takes. Harbour Galley can also be 5-10 minutes to order depending on how long the line is, and then I'd say another 5 or so for food. In both cases, you then may have to wait for seating or take the food elsewhere. Pacific Wharf has a single long line which then goes to the next available register, which I prefer. I'd budget 20-25 minutes for most CS from when you get in line to when you're sitting down with food if you're going to eat from say, 11:30-1 or prime dinner hours.

Most places move pretty fast, some are a bit on the slow side. However, they are feeding a lot of people, so the lines get long. Pacific Wharf is pretty fast even when the line looks long because everyone stands in the same line. I suggest you bring snacks/lunch type foods if you are trying to maximize time or try eating lunch at 11 when the restaurants begin opening.

My input based on a visit on Saturday 5/6 is that many of these places close early, so plan ahead. The Harbor Galley closed at 9pm. French Market at 10pm. Lots closed early leaving not many options late in the evening. There are no posed closing time signs that I could find. So eat early or miss out.

This is so true -- I'm always surprised how few places there are to eat later in the evenings. On the upside, it's been my experience that they still let you use the tables. When we couldn't find anything open in NOS last year, we went and got fruit from the Traders in Adventureland, then sat down at an outdoor table at one of the NOS restaurants and ate.

Found this out the hard way too...ended up with turkey legs and popcorn for dinner. My kids were perfectly happy!

We've rarely waited more than 5 minutes in line for counter service in the summer even at prime lunch times. Of course you can always have the bad luck of getting in a slow line, or a line where there is some hold up (last summer it was a person who couldn't decide what they want and stood there for about 10 minutes trying to figure it out and calling family members over from a table to ask questions about their order).
