Will anyone be making any recipes or getting Asian takeout during the holiday? Do you decorate your home at all or do anything special?

Takeout. I don't have time to cook on the holiday due to work but I will be ordering several of my favorite Asian dishes from my local Asian restaurant.

I eat Asian food all the time, so I don't necessarily get it special for Lunar New Year. I certianly won't be making any though!

The Year of the Snake celebration begins today, January 29, 2025 and the fun continues for the next 2 weeks!

Co-hosting a NY party on the 8th and this is the menu so far:

Fried walnuts
A variety of dumplings, pan fried and boiled (store bought; too difficult to make anymore)
Rice wrappers stuffed with fresh herbs, shrimp + veggies
Filipino spring rolls, think it’s called lumpia (girl friend is making them + they are sooo good)

Peking duck
Steamed whole fish with sizzling oil seasoned with ginger and scallions
Soy glazed Cornish hens
Red braised pork belly
Pancit (Filipino “lo mein”) with veggies only
Tofu chile crisp

Steamed bok choy
Eggplant w/ garlic sauce

White and brown rice

Frozen ginger cream
Lychee nut gelato
Bowl of fresh citrus fruit

Debating whether we should offer a soup otherwise the menu would be finalized.
