Hello all...its me again...words of wisdom needed again....we are flying into MCO on 11/30 for the 7 day Magic...we have the DCL transportation and baggage handling...question is when we arrive at the airport but before we pick up luggage you always get greeted by a DCL rep....do we stop and talk to them first and do they go get our luggage or do we get it and then speak to them...two years ago we did the land and sea so they got the luggage at the resort...last year our flight was delayed so when we arrived at the airport the DCL rep intersepted us and told us to go to the bus right away...they would get our luggage...and ya know...they did and it all went well....but we should be arriving early this time(hopefully) so if you guys know...please let me know...Thanks....20 days to the Magic!

Hey Barb...not usual for me to be awake that late or early...but went to a late movie and just got home...wow...almost 50 and staying out like a teenager......but seriously now...we are down to 20 days to cruise...and I know it is less for you since you are leaving early for Florida.....gonna be great to put a face to the names....so somebody needs to be in charge now so I elect you Barb to take things over and pick the meeting spot.....

You put the DCL tags on your luggage and check it at the airport.
When you get to Orlando, you take the tram to the main terminal and you will run into the DCL representatives there. They are easy to locate. They will take you to the bus that takes you to the port. You don't see your luggage again until you are in your room on the ship. It is handled entirely by DCL. We had all luggage pieces delivered to us by about 5 - 5:30 pm.
DCL is so organized. Prior to leaving the ship on Sat., we were given new tags for our checked luggage. The luggage had to be outside our door by 11pm on Friday night. When we left the ship on Saturday, we quickly located our luggage and a porter helped us get it to the Continental check in (right outside the DCL terminal!). We hopped on the DCL bus and back to the airport. No further checkin was needed. We went straight to the gate. It was very easy.

We are flying home with Delta. Do they offer checkin at the port? Does United? My other family members are using that airline. We all booked our air through DCL.

Thanks

According to the Welcome Home flyer that you get on your last night of the cruise: "Guests on the following domestic flights will be able to check their bags at the Disney Cruise Line terminal:
American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, and US Airways.
For remaining guests on other carriers, or for International Guests. please check your luggage at the Orlando International Airport."

Sorry, United is not listed.

Yippee...when the cruise is over on 12/7....and dear Lord let the week just crawl by....we are returning to Orlando airport...but just to pick up a full size Dollar rent a car($112.00 for week) and heading over to the Port Orleans Riverside(and I still want to call it Dixie Landings)and going to enjoy 5 nights of holiday magic in the parks....MVMCP on 12/10...the Candlelight Processional Package on 12/8.....dinner at Cinderella's....dinner at 1900 Park Fare....heaven.....I'm in heaven......and the best part of this whole vacation is it is all paid for....not one thing has to be charged.....and already planning next years......20 days to the "MAGIC"....

Thanks for the info. regarding Delta flights. What will the procedure be for my family using United? Do they put the bags on the DCL bus and then checkin at the airport? Does someone help them do this? They have air/ground trans. through DCL. It is my mother-in-law/father-in-law I am wondering about ..she is in her 70's and disabled and he is 82.

Thanks

From what I remember...they take you back to the DCL bus stop and you get assistance from the baggage handlers at the airport...you always get top notch service at MCO and there always seems to be a lot of the guys to help...they should not have to touch there luggage until they get to there home airport.....Maybe somebody has more info...but that is what I remember....
