Luggage Fees on Return

I'm flying US Airways next month. From home, I plan on checking in online and pay the $15 luggage fee. They said it was $10 more to pay the luggage fee if you checkin at the airport. The problem will be on my return flight home. I won't have a computer while on vacation. I'm staying at GF. If I go to the front desk the night before my return flight, will I be able to have them do the online check-in, print my boarding passes and pay for my luggage fees using my CC or is there a better way?

If the GF is like the BW, they should have an airline desk in the lobby. You will be given information on how to pay for your luggage the day before you leave (you have to call BAGS) for paying for your baggage. You then take your confirmation no. to the airline desk in the morning, check your bags and they will give you your boarding pass.

Depending on your flight time, you may or may not be able to check your bag with RAC.

That said, Guest Services will be able to assist you with checking in and printing boarding passes (and paying for baggage fees).

Thanks, my return flight is at 5:00 pm. ME should pick us up around 2:00 pm. Sounds like I should be able to do everything right from the resort. The luggage fees are bad enough. I don't want to get hit for another $30 at the airport just for not paying the fee when I check-in online. The whole luggage fee thing is ridicules. I wouldn't feel that way if they burried the cost in the price of the ticket.

For me, I'm glad they're not in the ticket price. I travel for business often and I don't usually have luggage to check, just my notebook computer and a small bag that I carry on.

It goes both ways depending on the person and circumstance.

Good point. Never thought of it that way. I feel for you, but I still think luggage fees STINK!

When I was at POFQ in May, the day before I was to leave a packet was left on my room door. It had info for the DME pick-up and what number to call to pay for the baggage fee. I flew Delta, and the fee was the same whether I did on-line check-in or at the airport. What airline did you use?

When you checkin to your room there will be a flier in the room telling you what you need to do upon checkout at the end of your stay. It will tell you when and who to call to pay your luggage fees. It will list the airlines and instructions with each. Bascially there is a phone number to call the day before you depart and pay your fees over the phone. Then when you get to RAC to drop off your luggage you'll have a confirmation number of your payment.
