Luggage and hats

I have been a lurker/reader for the past 6 months, but now that our cruise is 4 weeks away, I have a few specific questions- hope it's okay to ask them here.

1. Luggage- are there dimensions of what fits under the bed? Height/length/width? Just trying to decide what bags to pack.

2. Hats- we are quite fair and need to wear hats- are the winds too strong to wear an non secure sun hat? Any tips on good hats adult/kids to bring?
