This is a place for fellow luggage addicts to share their favorite suitcases, carry on, personal items, and traveled accessories.

I am obsessed with finding the perfect bag yet am, at the same time, too cheap to spend a ton of money. I am also, apparently, easily influenced and should really stay away from social media. My current favorite influence has been getting me in trouble. I follow Rilee Smith on her blog and on her Tik Tok (Rilee). Do you have a favorite travel/packing expert?

Although I titled the thread "luggage" and included suitcases in my list, I personally am more interested in cabin bags as I am almost exclusively carry on only now days. I have my favorite bags but am constantly on the hunt for something better.

Does anyone have a favorite bag they would like to suggest What makes it your favorite?

I travel with a mobility scooter so if I take a rollerbag, it has to be a spinner so that I can pull it with one hand while I drive with the other. I currently have 2 22 inch spinners that I use but I am looking for something better

I have a 22 inch clamshell hardside Disney bag but no longer like clamshell. They take up too much space when open and they are harder to pack because you are limited to two shallow sides.

My other bag is a softside bag with one large section but when I have a personal item on the handle, the bag gets tippy and falls over every time I let go of it.

So, now I am trying to justify (to myself) buying a hardside, spinner, trunk style 20-22 inch. Does anyone have one that does not tip over?

My favorites have been Tumi and Briggs & Riley. Pricey, but I got my Tumi carry on and tote at TJ Maxx on a steal. Time to retire them though because they are old. Looking for something that is lightweight that I can pack a lot into. I do use packing bags, not because I can pack more in, more to keep everything organized. I also need a new bag for toiletries.

Thanks for the link to Rilee Smith. I will check it out.

My 22 inch Briggs & Riley baseline spinner is a tank, it does not tip over. Pretty heavy though, especially when I pack it to the gills!

Regular packing cubes or compression?

I was also using packing cubes for the organization. DD and I usually share a carry on and with packing cubes, I can separate our clothes. But, now, thanks to Rilee, I have been using compression packing cubes and it has been great. I fit so much stuff in my bag.

We like a carryon like this one. We bought our suitcases at Target, and they were less than $60. I like the outside pockets that can easily hold a jacket or something that you might need before or after you land. The suitcase won't tip over if we pack it with the heavy stuff on the bottom. I prefer the fabric to the hard side suitcases because of the outside pockets and the price.

We have a clamshell bard shell but never use it anymore.

Our daughter travels extensively, and she swears by Travelpro platinum. Not sure if she has a hard side or a soft side. She only does carry on. She is a light packer.

For my personal item, I switch between 2 bags depending on the trip.

Anything more than a few days in WDW and this cooler is hanging on the back of my scooter and serves as my suitcase (and DD and I share a 22 inch spinner). My personal item is then something similar to this 1737120771949.png

If it is a shorter trip, a day trip or a trip anywhere where I don't need a cooler, the Lovevook backpack will be handing on the back of the scooter as my personal item

Lovevook Laptop backpack

I picked up a Travelon Transit backpack on clearance last year, and I am really liking it. Thinking about buying the matching duffle (not rolling), it is in my Amazon basket.

I bought this suitcase years ago because I love the fabric (sloths!). It's held up well for 6 years with a bunch of international trips. I did tear the rubber covering on one of the wheels in Florence on my last trip on a pipe sticking out of the sidewalk. I tore it all off, we'll see how the wheel works without it next trip.
That is cute fabric and I love the pint interior

I recently discovered the square, suitcase style backpacks and have a random brand one from amazon. DS uses it when we travel together so now I am tryin to justify buying the Lovevook one for an extra. I don't really need it but I do like the quality of the Lovevook bags.

Edited to correct - not square backpack but squared top backpack. They pack just like a suitcase.

I have a Tumi 26" and a 21", I am happy with them, though they cost me almost as much as a Disney trip! I follow Samantha Brown on Instagram and she sells travel accessories on HSN and posts links. I did buy her large compression packing cube ($43), it's great. Holds a ton and compresses it down really well, better than brands I've found on Amazon. The material is also durable and the zippers, too. I do like Lug for carry on bags, lots of organization and light weight. My LL Bean canvas totes (long handles and zipper) are a favorite, but no organization inside. I too, have a weird obsession with luggage!

@Mle8308 I have a tote that I love despite the lack of organization and here is my solution. I bought Travelon small packing squares. Way too many because I use them for everything. I line them up in my tote and it gives me instant organization. I am having a hard tie getting used to using my bags that have built in organizations. lost track what's in the pockets.

Thanks for the Samantha Brown suggestion

Will check it out! Thank you for supporting my addiction and not judging! 🤣

I have various sized Disney Clamshell spinners. I do love to use packing cubes, but have never tried the compression packing cubes!
