Day 7 (Friday)

This is our rest and relaxation day. But...it begins early with a breakfast ADR at Cape May.

capemay.jpg

We might go play mini-golf in the morning or early afternoon, because we all get a free round before 4pm with our park tickets.

Winter Summerland is adorable, but Brian and I have done both courses there.

Fantasia Gardens is a little more refined, and we've only done one course there.

If Tabby and Tommy come along, I'll just let them pick. Luke has never been mini golfing before, so it will be fun to see how he likes it.

We have packet pickup for our races at Wide World of Sports, anytime between noon and 8pm. We've never been to WWOS before, so that's another first for us. Strollers aren't allowed. It should be a fun time.

Of course we're going to hang out at the famous Stormalong Bay.

I cannot believe it's that big.

I reminded Brian that we could pool hop over to the creepy clown pool at the Boardwalk, but for some reason he wasn't interested in doing that.

We'll probably spend some of the evening traipsing around the Boardwalk.

And enjoying Crescent Lake.

I'd like to get another caricature of Luke, this one beach/boardwalk themed. We got one from Animal Kingdom Lodge last year and I love it.

Tabby wanted to get a pizza today, so I suggested Flippers.

Mmmmm.

Brian mentioned wanting to have a little early birthday celebration (his birthday's the 15th) so we might go to Beaches and Cream either for a meal or just dessert.

So that's our "rest and relaxation day." It sounds like we actually have a lot to do!

Sounds like a great relaxation day before your big race! I love mini-golf at Disney - we have done all the courses a couple times. (Although the 'real' mini golf course was super hard! We stopped keeping score as we both did horrible. )

Yeah, I hadn't realized that the only one we haven't done is literally a miniature golf course. I wanted to do them all, but I have no interest in REAL golf. :rotfl:

Day 8 (Saturday)

Race Day! :cheer2:

We need to head back over to WWOS bright and early for Luke's 100m race. We've practiced running, but I'm SURE that he's just going to stand there and watch the other kids. Or maybe wander off in the wrong direction. It should be fun either way. :thumbsup2

After the race, we're going to Hollywood Studios for the day.

DHS03.jpg

Well, Brian and Luke and I are. Tabby and Tommy are heading to Islands of Adventure. I'm really jealous, so I told them to bring me back a butterbeer.

We selected FastPass+ for:

Toy Story Midway Mania

Tower of Terror

and Rock 'N Roller Coaster.

For today, I was actually relieved that we'll have the FP+. Getting to DHS in the late morning/early afternoon when they're only open until 6pm, I figure there's a good possibility that they will be running low on FastPasses. I think Luke's big enough to enjoy TSMM now but I wouldn't want to stand in a long standby line. So having the reservation is really convenient. Today. ;)

We have a lunch ADR at Mama Melrose...

where I will carbo-load like Michael Scott.

Like I said, DHS closes early at 6pm to get ready for the 10 Miler and Villains Bash, so we'll be heading back to the resort early. I'm hoping Brian will do something fun (or not so fun, I'm not picky) with Luke so I can put my feet up for an hour, or take a nap, or maybe take a hot bubble bath.

bath.jpg

We have to be in our start corrals by 9:15. I'm not sure how long the walk will take yet, so I don't know exactly when I have to leave the Beach Club. Maybe 8:30? 8:15?

Whether I stop for any character photos during the race will depend on: (a) how long the lines are, (b) how I'm feeling. But I'd like to stop for at least one. Or even snap some run-by photos. I'm TERRIBLE at taking pictures with our camera, so I really need to practice.

I'm hoping to be finished around midnight so I'll have a few hours to meet the villains and ride with Brian. It's starting to strike me as really unfair that he gets to have fun at the party for two hours while I'm off running!

With three days to go I'm making good progress on my "to do before vacation" list. Today I took the car to get the oil changed and, while we were waiting, took Luke for a haircut. These were the only two tasks that I tried to delegate to Brian and I somehow ended up stuck with them anyway. :headache: Oh well; we actually had a nice morning out. We also went shopping and I got Luke a Jake and the Never Land Pirates outfit and pajamas. He needed the new threads because of the Limited Time Magic I'm hoping we'll catch on our first day. pirate:

At Walt Disney World, The Rusty Cutlass pirate band will entertain you in Caribbean Plaza at Magic Kingdom Park with tales and tunes, while Captain Hook, Pirate Goofy and Jake from “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” make appearances in the park. There will be a special pirate pre-parade ahead of daily performances of the “Celebrate a Dream Come True” Parade and if you sign on with the Pirate’s League earlier in the day, you may find yourself recruited to join Jake, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and their crew for a procession along Main Street, U.S.A.

He looks a little scary. I don't know how Luke will feel about a real-life Captain Hook, but he enjoys the animated one.

Our MNSSHP costumes are Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed, so this would be SUCH a cute way to start our trip. But I read somewhere that they will only be greeting until 3pm. Now I can't remember where I read that. So. We'll see.

And now, the plans for our last full day at Disney....

Day 9 (Sunday)

I'm guessing we're all going to be tired today--me and Brian because we were partying at DHS until 4am, and Tabby and Tommy because they were back at the resort with Luke! I hope he sleeps well while we're gone. Vacation usually wipes him out and he sleeps a little better at night than he does when we're home. I have my fingers crossed that he doesn't cause them too much trouble.

Because, sadly, Tabby and Tommy are leaving today so they can get back to work. :sad1:

Brian, Luke, and I are going to Animal Kingdom. We made our FP+ selections for the afternoon, so we won't have to get up early and hurry over there. We picked Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Festival of the Lion King.

fotlk.jpg

Other than that, we'll do whatever we didn't manage to do on our first AK day. Park hours were just extended, so AK is open until 7pm tonight!

Day 10 (Monday)

Our last day--we check out of the Beach Club today. :(

I want to end the trip at Magic Kingdom, so that's where we're headed. We made FP+ reservations for:

hp15.jpg

Space Mountain

sixth15.jpg

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

and to meet Rapunzel (and a friend!) at the new Fairy Tale Princess Hall. I wanted to meet Cinderella, but Brian changed our reservation to Rapunzel since Cinderella's standby line will theoretically be shorter.

I'm not sure yet how long we'll stay at Magic Kingdom, when we'll leave Orlando, or if we'll stop for the night. On our last trip, our last day was cold and rainy.

13-01.jpg

I liked that, because then I didn't mind leaving! This time will be even sadder because we don't know exactly when we're coming back (probably sometime in 2015.) So yeah. I'm really hoping for a cold, rainy, nasty day. ;)

Just finished reading all your daily plans. Looks great. Two days! Have fun and safe travels!

Your plans look great - if I don't get back on here before you leave good luck on the race and have fun!!
