Hi,
My family and I did the Lucayan Beach excursion in January 2002. We enjoyed it very much. It was a very relaxing day. We weren't planning on doing any of the excursions on our first cruise as we wanted to enjoy the ship much as possible. However, the day we docked in Freeport was incredibly hot and sunny and the beach excursion seemed perfect. So that morning, I purchased our tickets. I received a voucher for lunch and transportation. Towels were also included (1 per person).
Everything is very streamlined with Disney. They shuttled us over to the resort in buses. There were two buses for our group. The ride was approximately 25 minutes. Also, there were lounge chairs set up on the beach and alongside the pool. We lugged our snorkeling gear with us and really didn't feel it was worth it. We saw one fish

. Lunch was pretty good. Being served were sandwiches, salads, burgers and fries.
The beach and pool area was very nice and uncrowded. The resort was large with different buildings. We stayed in what I think was the main area. There is a waterslide in a tower like structure that according to DH is not for the faint of heart

.
Well, thats all I can think of right now. If you have any other questions, don't hesitiate to ask. If you like, I could email you a couple pics to give you an idea of what its like. Just let me know.
Mary
