Any thoughts on whether the Poly's Luau is appropriately interesting enough for young kids? We'll be at WDW w/our DDs, ages 6 and 2 1/2, in early '03 and wonder if the Luau's worth the cost, particularly for the younger one. (I recall myself and my DS enjoying it many moons ago, but we were 10 and 6, respectively, at the time.)

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. I will have a 3 year old on our next visit and my husband and I would liek to go to the luau.

Just for your info.. we went to Hoop Dee Doo with a 3 year old last time and he really loved it. He never cried or even tried to get out of his seat. That was a first for us!

I took my son when he was 2.5 and 6. He really enjoyed it both times. He liked the shows but was too shy to go up when the kids went up.

I really enjoy the show myself. We skipped in December and won't go on our next trip because DD is pretty active and won't sit still for the show.

Hope this helps!

We went to the Luau in 97 when they still had Mickey's Luau. The food was terrible and our son fell asleep before the show even began. This was a 6:30 PM show if I recall.

You may want to try this question over at the dining forum where there are always a lot of posts on the luau, more people with your age children may respond. We just returned and everyone loved it; the youngest boy in our party was 9. I'd definitely bring a six year old girl there, a two year old if they had a good nap that afternoon (unless you went to the early show) Have fun!

We went when my DS was 5 and it was a waste of money. It was also about 45 degrees in December so that could have had something to do with it. He was under the table trying to sstay warm! We did videotape and he enjoys watching some of it, but it's dependent on what type of kids you have. I have friends who had 2 year olds who sat through the Nutcracker with rapt attention. Not my kids....

We went in Dec 99 with 14mos old dd, 7 yo dd and 15 yo ds and we thought it was a big waste of money and time. It was very cold which didn't help at all. But the food was awful! We left shortly after they served the food and missed most of the show. Wish we had spent the money on the hoop dee doo instead.

Thanks, all. We've opted for the Hoop De Doo instead, along w/a dinner at 'Ohanas, both of which seem to be a much better value, particularly for the really young 'uns.

From what I've heard, you've made a good choice. Have fun!
