LTT Character Dinner Question

My family and I are going to WDW this August and are planning to dine at LTT.
We are a little bit confused. We heard that the character dinner is only temporary. But in our Unofficial Disney Guide for this year, there is no mention of the character meal being temporary. What do we believe? Thanks!

The charecter meal will only be available while the crystal palace is closed. After it reopons there wont be any more charecters.

Probably the reason it says there will be characters in your book is because it always used to be a character meal until last year when they took the characters away permanently. Now during Jan and Feb, they are bringing them back for a limited time just while the Crystal Palace is in refurb, then they are supposed to go away again.

You never know when they might decide to bring them back, but they have officially been gone for over a year now and no word on permanently bringing them back from what I've seen/read.
