Hello All,

I'll be traveling over to the USA in Sept from Australia this year but thought I'd start doing some research on some decent Scrapbooking stores inthe cties we will be visiting.
We'll be going to LA, staying in Beverley Hills, in NYC were staying on Broadway, i can't remember exactly where, in WDW we are staying at Pop and in Las Vegas we'll be on the strip.
We won't be renting a car at all on the trip so places that are fairly easy to get to on public transport would be good.

I hoping to find some stores that have a pretty good range of not only disney products, but scrapboking in general. At the moment I'm sucked in on Patterned paper, and brads and eyelets....

Hopfully everyone here can help me - Thanx in advance!

do you have the US Creaking Keepsakes magazine in Aus? We get it imported here in the UK and towards the back there are pages of stores listed by State. Not sure if they might have the same list on their web pages?

Oooh thats a good idea, yes, i think they do a that here or at least other imported mags, i'll check that out thanks for the tip!

I'm actually going to Las Vegas this week and planning to get to a couple LSS's. I'll post what I discover . . .

There are no large scrapbook stores in NYC. You'd have to travel to either Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island, which is very time consuming by subway or bus.

You could visit "Kate's Paperie" or "Lee's Art Supplies", but their selections are very limited.

I am visiting Las Vegas next week ... got to see what kind of shopping I can get done!!

Hi there. Well, DH and I got back from Vegas Sunday but it's been a very busy week. NEDisneyfans (Alicia) and I met up in Las Vegas last week. I don't know if she's going to post a report, but I wanted to just tell you about the two LSSs we went to.

First we went to Scrappin' Time http://www.scrappin-time.com (well, o.k. first we got some lunch at the Chinese restaurant in the Scrappin' Time shopping center :rolleyes1 ) and it was great! Really big, bright, TONS of Disney items, a cute Las Vegas section. Everything was very well sorted. There was the "general" section sorted by color and then the "theme" area. They had all the big names and then some. Stuff I've never seen here locally (like sports items and some more obscure Disney characters). Huge paper section! Some cheap grab bag brads and mini envelopes too. Really cool stuff! I would go back there if I'm ever in Vegas again.

Then we went to Pebbles in My Pocket http://www.pebbleslasvegas.com/index.htm The store part was smaller, but had a great selection. They have a huge crop room and scheduled fun crops like a pajama night. They also had a nice die cut/paper peicing section (thank you Alicia for teaching me about paper peicing!!). There was a decent sale section as well. I found a lot of nice romance/wedding items there and since I have yet to make our wedding scrapbook that came in handy!

Overall, I liked Scrappin' Time better, but it's definitely worth the trip to Pebbles if you don't mind driving (they're kind of on opposite sides of The Strip).

We had a wonderful day :goodvibes Good laughs, good LSSs, good fun!!

Thanks for the report!! I'm going in August and looking forward to it. I'd been to Scrappin-time, that is a cool store. I'll definitely go back there, I'm also going to check out a couple others as well. If I remember, I'll post a trip report when I return too. Did you have a rental car the whole trip or did you just rent a car for the shopping day? I'm still debating that issue.

Thanks again,
Brenda

I was very fortunate, NEDisneyfans rented a car and picked me up :goodvibes She didn't mind driving, but I would not have wanted to find my way around in that traffic! DH and I walked, cabbed, and bussed (The Deuce bus is great!) all around The Strip. I guess you could cab it to the stores from your hotel, but that might get expensive. The cab from the airport to our hotel (The Venetian) was $20 with tip. We went to The Rio for dinner one night and cabbed it to Fremont Street after dinner and that was also $20 with tip. I would say from The Venetian to Pebbles, maybe $20 - $30 cab fare?

At that rate I should rent the car (a small one) for the day -- much more flexible for sure, and I don't mind the traffic either (on the strip is stinky, but off strip isn't that bad).

Thanks again,
Brenda
