LPT: If you're going to purchase direct and pay full up front, you can pay with Credit Card and reap travel multiplier (at least on Chase)

What about if it were direct? Would they let you do that?

Direct let’s you put everything on a CC if you want, There is a limit of $10K per transaction, so they just do it over a few installments.

You can also have it spread out up to 90 days. We did 30 but next time, will take the 90 for sure if we can!

When I did direct I did my entire amount over $20k in a single transaction!

Chase determine the amount of credit to issue based on credit score, income and credit history.

what credit limit bob gets from John likely to be vastly different as different factors determine limits

i currently place all my spend on my Amex plat but tempted to get the Disney visa so I can get 2% cash back on grocery and food spend

I know this thread is getting old, but I wanted to mention that if you have a loan through Disney, if you make a payment on the website to your CC it is coded as travel. At least with Chase. I’ll be getting 4.5% back for every extra loan payment.

I believe the $10k limit is for the Disney Visa card because Chase won’t flag it for the 6 months 0% financing if the single transaction is over $10k. At least that’s what my guide told me when I put a direct purchase on my Disney Visa.

You are right. I put almost my entire riviera purchase on my chase sapphire a few years ago and it was much over 10k.

It’s just 1x MR points for a DVC purchase. Did you have any other questions?
Thanks, that's the most important factor! They have a targeted "Plan It" program that is waiving fees making it effectively a 0 percent loan that I am considering.

For the people that used their Chase Sapphire Reserve Card, did DVC let you charge it over a few months like the Disney Card folks?

Any resale sites that let you use credit cards?
It varies by title company but typically is limited to a few thousand or less. They aren't letting you put $10k or $20k on a card like a direct purchase.

This is exactly what I did when I added on to VGF recently.

I used my Amex green card and the DVC purchase was coded as Travel, so it earned 3x points as well!

But yes, Amex platinum only earns 1x MR points
